Calum's POV
"Hello?" I answer my phone hopefully, seeing Alice's name flash across the screen.
"Calum?" My heart sinking as I hear Maddie's aunts voice instead of her own.
"Ya. Is Mads with you?"
"No. But she asked me to get a hold of you. She said to tell you Gramps would meet you outside your hotel at ten this morning. He'll drive you away from your friends, and fans, so you can see Maddie and Sam without being close to anyone else."
"Out front?"
"Ya, she doesn't want you hiding that you're going to see her. She wants to make sure Chris is led away from where all your friends are, and where the fans are hanging out."
"Thank you, Alice, and thank you for taking such good care of my girl, and family, while I haven't been able to."
"She's my family too. I hope I get to meet you someday too, Calum. She loves you a whole lot. I hope you know that."
"I do. Thanks again. I gotta get ready to go see them."
"Be safe, Calum, Chris is evil, and cunning. Stay vigilant."
"I know. I will. Bye." I click the phone off, smiling to myself. An hour, one hour until I get to go see my girl again.
Quickly I strip, jumping into a warm shower, not wanting to leave Gramps idling on the curb at all. Once done in the shower I dress in a black t-shirt and some blue jeans, slipping on my Van's, tussling my curls so they lay somewhat flat. Grabbing my phone and wallet I hurry out of the room about ten to ten. I'd rather wait with the fans than make Gramps wait.
"Calum!" A couple girls call out as I pushes through the door into the warm April air.
"Hi guys." I grin, glancing at the road to make sure Gramps isn't already waiting for me.
"Where are the others?" One girl asks excitedly.
"Honestly? Probably still asleep." I laugh, leaning in for a picture.
"Why are you up then?"
"Gotta go see Sammy boy. I haven't in almost six months! Plus, Mads is with him. And I miss her too."
"We miss her too! We wish she would reactivate her social media accounts."
"We are also so happy you guys fixed things! We missed happy Calum, and we know how happy she makes you."
"Thank you. I'm happy we did too." I glance up as someone honks, grinning at Gramps.
"That's my ride. I'll see you guys later." I wave, jogging towards the small car and yanking the passenger door open.
"Gramps! It has been too long!" I pull him into a hug as soon as I'm fully in my seat.
"We've definitely missed you around the family too, Cal. You ready to see everyone again?"
"So ready. I've missed all of you, but Maddie most."
"As it should be. She's missed you too. It's been a hard few months for her."
"I'm sure it's been hard for all of you. I mean it's been bad enough for me and I've been traveling and doing band stuff constantly. I've had my mind busy with other stuff. You guys have just been living the hell and fear of the case."
"But you brave man, you pushed our hand and may have brought all of us to the end of this misery."
"I hope so." I sigh, my nerves still slightly on edge behind my obvious excitement, "I couldn't do it anymore, I couldn't live not knowing where Maddie is, where Chris is, or in fear of what he is planning."
