Matthews Residence: Riley's Bedroom
"Why do we have to sneak out the window if we're not doing anything wrong until we sneak into the subway?" Riley Matthews asked as her best friend, Maya Hart, sat on the window seal next to her and her teenage uncle, Ryan Matthews, stood by the leaning against the door.
"You think you're ready to just walk by your parents?" Maya asked.
"I think I'm ready." Riley smiled as Maya and Ryan shared a look.
"Let me see your face as you walk by your parents." Ryan turned to his niece and locked his phone, where he was texting his brother, Joshua Matthews.
Riley gave her uncle and her best friend a look of fright as he sat down on her bed.
"Why are you making that face at us, Riley?" Ryan asked, pretending to be his brother Corey and his sister-in-law- Topanga Matthews.
"Because I'm sneaking out into the subway." Riley replied and Ryan shook his head in disbelief. The youngest Matthews pointed out towards her window, "out the window."
"Let's go." Maya agreed.
Ryan chuckled at his niece and her best friend, standing up just as the two came back in with his older brother following the two girls.
"Daddy! What are you doing out here?" Riley questioned her father.
"Being smarter than me. How come you're always smarter than me?" Maya asked with a pout.
"Here's what I'm thinking." Corey climbed into the window and the two girls sat on Riley's bed next to Ryan, "It's not your world yet. It's still my world. Because if it was your world, Maya would have you on the Subway already, thinking you pulled something over on me. But you didn't. Know how I know? Look at you. You're right here."
