    Sabrina's POV

I  was walking home. I had just left my after school job late and it was dark. I didn't live in the best part of the city but it wasn't exactly the worst. My house was just two blocks from Winverly St. were I was now. I had to get home soon or else my parents would worry and the police had a lot of missing people to deal with already.

The shadows stayed behind trash cans, and walls seemed to be careful to avoid the light of the street lamps. I was alone right now which was dangerous even if this neighborhood wasn't that bad but when you need to help your parents I guess anything was worth it.

I looked over and saw a shadow move. I shook my head. The night was just getting to me but I had the distinct feeling that I wasn't alone.

I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and- nothing. I could have sworn I saw something that time. I kept walking and reminding myself that I was almost home, trying to stay close to the buildings and away from the light. I heard a noise and I turned back around to find myself face- to- face with a man.

He was gangly with a moehawk in the middle of his head. He looked at me grinning, flashing a healed knife scar across his cheek. He had a knife in his hand. I backed up and had a look at his clothes covered in holes. He spoke.

" Alright guys we have our selves a nighter," he said. Laughter erupted from the shadows and four more guys stepped forward. There were six of them, all of them looked like the kind of men you could find at a sketchy bar. They circled around me like vultures and I cursed under my breath.

" I like the jacket she's wearing," said a different guy," and that watch."

" I like her," commented one man with a five o'clock shadow as he looked me over with hungry eyes. I looked at him in disgust." She's a pretty one, Moe."

" Now that you mention it, she sure is," he said grinning.

I was disgusted and afraid but I managed to make my mind work. I couldn't be stupid at a time like this. Screaming would only make them hurry to take me out plus, no one would confront a gang like this just to save one girl.

" I'm feeling generous however. If you're a good girl we might let you live. How does that sound, sweetheart?" He asked. My eyes flickered from one man to the next until one man spoke.

" I want first pickings on what I take from her," he stated.

" Hey, who said you get to choose," claimed another guy. The rest turned to look at the two fighting.

I had to think quickly since the distraction wouldn't last forever. Fighting was out of the question since there were six men and only one of me. I thought of running, it  would be risky but I could improve my chances if I found the weak point in their make shift circle and if I relied on the squabbling men. If I ran fast enough I might be able to evade them. If  I ran fast enough. I ran.

I didn't have time to steer towards my home so my only choice was to plunge into the shadows. It was dark but I could vagely see the outline of the walls and trash bags, basicly enough to figure out this was an alley. I hoped it lead out to another street. I f it didn't I would prbably die.

I ran almost blindly through the alley, stumbling every now and then. All of a sudden I saw someone up ahead so I ran harder with new hope. Maybe if I got to them they might know how to get out of here.

Once I reached the person I put my hand on the wall to hold on to as I tried to catch my breath. He seemed to be procupied because they were looking around as if expecting an attack at any second and him didn't even look at me. I couldn't see him well because of the darkness but I could glimps his outline and the whites of his eyes.

" I need help," I gasped still out of breath. "Can you show me the way out?"

" There is no was out, but you can come with me," he said. He sounded almost amused and his voice made it clear he was young maybe my age. I am busy and you seem to be in trouble so take it or leave it."

" Come with you? Are you crazy? And what do you mean there's no way out?" I asked startled at what he ofered.

" There's always a way out for me but I'm afraid that unless you come with me there is no way out of this alley," he said. I heard the echo of foot steps behind me and panick siezed me.

I hastily agreed," Fine." He took my hand and I could see nothing but darkness.
