THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY

Chapter 20

Taemin's POV

It's the next day. I decided to go to mall and treat myself but before i left for the mall, i left a note for my hyungs to read when they wake up. My note said:

Left to go the mall, will be back at noon.
- Taeminnie💛

*at the mall*

When i entered the mall, i was amazed by how it looked inside that i didn't move from where i was standing for 5 whole minutes. I was still admiring the mall when suddenly i was interrupted by people from the back telling me to move. It made me annoyed but i can't blame them. They probably thought i was weird for standing in one place for 5 minutes but i couldn't care less so i just moved like they told me to and just continued to walk around the mall.

I was probably walking around the mall for about an hour now that i completely forgot that i haven't eaten so i decided to look for a place to eat at. After a  few minutes of looking, i finally found a restaurant. I was about to enter the restaurant when suddenly i heard my phone make a sound. I opened it and saw Naeun's old message.

Taemin oppa. it's me Naeun. I'm so sorry for leaving without giving you a proper goodbye. I'm also sorry for keeping this from you. I love you so much that i  just didn't want to see you hurt. I will understand if you're not ready to talk to me right now but if ever you decide to reply soon, feel free to do so but if not yet, it's okay either, i will wait.

After reading the message, i closed my phone and entered the restaurant. I ordered in the counter then while waiting for my order to be served, i sat down on a table then got my phone and read Naeun's message again.

I found it weird. Why did i only receive it now when it completely says in the message that it was sent before my accident? It kept bothering me that i completely forgot that i was at a restaurant.

When the waiter gave me my food, i was still thinking and thinking so hard how that happened. I just kept eating my food while thinking and thinking then suddenly, i saw someone familiar and when i looked closely, it was Naeun.

N: Taemin oppa? is that you? *approaching Taemin*
T: *angry* not now Na- *surprised*
N: oppa? you remember me? *shocked*
T: can we not talk now? can't you see, i'm eating here
N: oh sorry oppa, okay i will leave you now *goes closer to Taemin for a hug*
T: *angry* *pulls away*
N: oh sorry oppa *frowns* *leaves*

What the heck Taemin?? Why did you do that to her?? was all i was thinking in my head when i saw Naeun leave. Okay i know you're mad at her but you also know to yourself that you still love her so why are you doing this to yourself and to her?? i was scolding myself in my head.

I wanted to look for Naeun to apologize for what i did to her earlier so right when i finished my food i immediately left the restaurant.

I ran and ran around the mall looking for her when suddenly i was stopped by someone from behind. I turned around to see that it was Onew hyung.
T: *surprised* Onew hyung? what are you doing here?
O: oh i forgot to tell you, i was going to the mall too because i have a date with Namjoo, my girlfriend. you remember her right?
T: Oh Namjoo? yeah yeah i remember her *out of breath* wait did she happen to go here with Naeun?
O: oh Naeun? Naeun's here too?
T: yeah yeah i met up with her earlier but i made her leave right away, so did she?
O: oh no sorry because i picked her up from their place
T: wait so where's Namjoo now if you picked her up?
O: oh she told me she was going to the cr *looks at a distance* oh speaking of which, there she is! oh *looks at Taemin with an unhappy face* she's with Naeun
T: *looks at where Onew was looking* SHE IS??
O: yes
Nm: *looks at Onew and waves from a far* Oppa!! *smiles at Onew*
O: *smiles back then looks at Taemin with a worried look on his face* Hey taemin, are you alright?
T: yeah yeah i'm alright *smiles*

The moment i smiled at Onew hyung, Naeun and Namjoo were making their way to us.

Nm: *smiling so bright* He-
N: *looks at Taemin then looks down* oh i'm sorry Taemin oppa, i will leave now if yo-
T: No! don't leave!
N: *looks at Taemin with a surprised look*
T: No naeun, don't leave.
N: *finds the situation awkward*
O: we will leave you two alone now. catch you guys later *waves bye to both Naeun and Taemin*
T&N: *finds the situation awkward and waves back*

When Onew hyung and Namjoo left, it was just me and Naeun.
N: *finds the situation awkward* so-
T: before you say anything, hear me out first
N: *finds the situation awkward* oooookay
T: I'm so sorry for how i treated you earlier, i knowi shouldn't have done that to you. I'm so sorry
N: Taemin oppa *hugs but backs out right away* oh sorry oppa
T: *pulls Naeun closer and hugs Naeun* *whispers to her ears* It's okay now Naeun, you don't need to apologize anymore. *pulls away from the hug and looks at Naeun* Naeun, i love you and will always love you until the day i die
N: *looks back at Taemin with tears running down* Tae-
T: *wipes Naeun's tears* shhh *kisses Naeun*
N: *tries to pulls away*
T: *pulls Naeun back*

We all go through struggles when we're in a relationship but i'm glad that Naeun and I survived. Like what i told her, I love her and will always love her until i die.
