I wiped the sweat off my brow as I looked at my work. So far I have built the floor and walls out of wooden planks. 'I guess I'll take a break, Garroth said he's busy... maybe I can take this time to get to know Emmalyn better, I'm sure she'd be willing to tell me about Irene since she seems to talk about her a lot' I think.

I walk down to the library and open the door hesitantly. 'Do I really want to deal with her? What if she acts like that all the time? ...no, no, of course not. No one could be grumpy ALL the time... right?' I think as the door opens fully.

The blonde girl looks up from a book and puts on an annoyed expression. "I thought you were building yourself a house..." she says.

"I am, just taking a break... I was wondering if you could tell me more about Irene?" I ask.

Her head perked up and she wore a smile. 'Yes! Maybe we can be friends...' I think happily.

"You want to know more about Irene? Well, you came to the right person. I've been studying about Lady Irene a lot recently and have gathered up MANY facts!" she says excitedly.

She starts rambling on about Irene. "Thousands of years ago, Lady Irene served the Ru'an region as a source of good. She stood for justice and peace and took the side of what she found right. One day something happened and Irene disappeared, along with the Divine Warriors. After thousands of years she returned, but the Divine Warriors remained missing, most say that they reincarnated. For many, many years, too many to count, Lady Irene wandered the world in emptiness, helping when asked, but she eventually went into hiding. To this day, we do not know what happened to her, but I believe she is still out there, watching over Ru'an." Emmalyn says, sighing happily.

"Who are the Divine Warriors?" I ask curiously, Emmalyn is a good storyteller.

She furrows her brow. "You want me to talk... more?" she asks hesitantly.

"Uhhh, yeah... is something wrong, do you want me to leave?" I ask, starting to get worried that my fantasy of a nice Emmalyn was just that, a fantasy.

"No!! No, I just... no one likes to listen to me..." she says, looking down at her book.

"I guess people are busy, especially with everything going on... but, I just want someone else to be interested in what I am, you know what I mean?" she asks.

I smile faintly. "That makes sense... well, if you ever need someone to talk to, you've got me." I say, smiling wider.

Emmalyn's eyes widen and she smiles, nodding. "Thanks... don't you have a house to build?" she asks with a smirk.

"Ah!! You're right! Bye!!" I say, rushing out the door.

"Glad you made a friend... you'll need her. Her facts aren't wrong." someone says, it sounds as if someone is speaking in my ear.

I stop suddenly and turn to see who spoke to me. "Who's there?!" I ask, shouting.

My shout earns a worried Garroth, rushing towards me. "Lady Y/n!! Are you alright???" he says, sounding distressed.

I stand there in shock. 'Am I going crazy??' I think.

"U-uh... i-it was nothing... I-I'm fine Garroth." I say, giving him a weak smile.

"A-are you sure?" he asks, concern lacing his voice.

"Yeah..." I say, composing myself.

"I'm fine, I was just spooked by a... a squirrel!! Yeah, a squirrel..." I say, smiling sheepishly while rubbing the back of my neck.

"I'm such a scaredy cat... heh." I say.

"Alright... just, don't scare me like that again, ok?" he asks, sounding calmer.

"Oka-" I say, interrupted by the sound of Zenix shouting for Garroth.

"It's Brendan!! He's been shot!" Zenix exclaims.

Did you enjoy?? Please comment! I'm trying really hard to make sure that people who haven't seen MCD still understand what's going on. I'm really excited with where I'm bringing the story and combining it with Aphmau's plot!!

Have a great day!! Aurora oowut!!!
