I can feel my face heating up. 'He's so handsome!' I think.

Garroth turns and looks at me. "Y-y/n!! W-what are y-you doing here?" he asks, putting his helmet back on.

"I'm sorry for... intruding, but I needed to talk to you about what Emmalyn said." I say, trying to stop imagining Garroth taking his shirt off.

"Alright, what did she say?" he asks.

"She said that to get more answers, I would have to find the witch that lives in the enchanted forest. I-I was wondering if you would go instead of me... I don't think I'm cut out for defeating any 'great evil'." I tell him.

He stands up quickly. "I'll go, but only because I think your more capable than I am so you should take care of Phoenix Drop." he says.

I blush, but try to hide it. "O-ok then... is it ok if I come with you a little of the way? Just to know your safe?" I ask.

"Alright, lets tell Donna we are going." Garroth says, walking out of the room with me.

We tell Donna and get instructions from Emmalyn, we say bye to Brendan and the other villagers, including Brendan's sister, Kiki. "I'll come with you all the way to the edge of the forest, no farther so I can get back to the village quickly." I say as we set off.

"Sounds good." Garroth says, sounding absent minded.

"Is there something wrong Garroth?" I ask.

He stops walking. "I just- *sigh* Your dream... do you really know who Zane is? You're the first person I've heard talk about him without disgust..." Garroth says.

"No, not really. All I know is that he's The High Priest and that I have to 'defeat' him..." I say, shrugging.

"Honestly... I have no idea what's going on or what I have to do, the only clue I have is this witch and even she could be dangerous... I just feel like I'm a little out of my depth." I say.

"I completely understand." Garroth says with sympathy.

I look at him with surprise. 'He looks like he handles things so well!' I think.

"How so?" I ask.

"...it's the reason I don't want to be lord, I feel like I'm not good enough for the task... I want to protect, I'm not fit to lead." Garroth says.

I nod my head in understanding. We continue to walk towards the forest, making sure to avoid the local wolf tribe on our way. "Hey... I've been meaning to ask, why do you always wear your helmet?" I question.

"It's, um... well, I guess it's just my way of running from my past." he answers.

"Why would you run from your past though? I would do anything just to know a little more about mine." I say solemnly.

"I just wish it weren't my past, it causes me trouble wherever I go. The memories... hurt." Garroth says, as if staring into a far off place.

"At least you have them." I say, ending the conversation.

It's still a few days walk to get there, we walk till nightfall in silence. Only speaking to each other to set up camp. Before going to sleep by the fire, I ask Garroth if he thinks I could do what Lady Irene asked.

He said yes.
