Camp Hope//A Hayes Grier Fanfiction

Chapter One

"Dest lets go!" I hear my mom say from downstairs. I groan as I get up and go to take a shower. Once I'm done, I put on my black shorts, my camp shirt, and sneakers. My hair dries perfectly straight ((thank god)), so I just leave it at that. I then put my makeup on which is just a little mascara and concealer. My mom doesn't let me put too much on because she says I have 'natural beauty'. I don't see it but I think it's very sweet.

"Hey mom!" I say and grab a waffle and take a bite.

"Hey D! Ready for camp?" She asks. She knows I always look forward to going to Camp Hope.

Camp Hope is a camp for kids that are bullied and not liked and all. The camp helps them make friends and bond with other girls/ boys from all around the world. We live in L.A so it's a long travel for some people.

"Grab your bag we're leaving." My mom says and I grab my suitcases and put them in the car. Yes, it's an overnight, one week camp.

"Are you excited?" My mom asks.

"Very!" I say.

After a little while, we're finally there.

I go to the front and say hi to Linda. She's like the head leader and one of the coolest people I've ever met.

"Hey Linda! So nice to be back!" I say and hug her.

"How have you been?" She asks.

"I've been doing well how about you?" I ask.

"Good! Your dorm is 207 and Brielle, Ronni, and Addison are already in there!" She says and hands me my key.

"Thanks Linda! I'll see you later at the bonfire bonding!" I say and she waves and I start walking to my dorm.

I get up to the dorm room and I open the door.

"Hey girls!" I say and they all scream and come to hug me. We haven't seen each other in so long.

"I missed you guys so much!" I say.

"We missed you too!" Addy says.

"Dest guess what! There's a cute guy!" Ronni says.

"Of course there is Ronni." I say and laugh.

"He'll definitely like you d! You're like the prettiest girl at this camp!" Brielle says.

"Are you kidding me? You guys are way prettier than me! You guys go meet everyone and I'll stay here and unpack." I say.

"Are you sure?" they ask.

"Yes I'm sure! Go have fun!" I say and they hug me and thank me and leave.

I then just clean up after them ((they're slobs but i love them)). I get all the trash and bring it too the end of the hallway.

I then throw it away and turn around when I suddenly bump into someone.

"I'm so sorry!" I say looking at the person. Can I just say he was cute. Very cute.

"My bad." He says and I just look down and walk away. I get so shy in front of boys.

Was this who they were talking about?

I go back to my room and quickly unpack my stuff, putting it in drawers.

I then finish and go outside to the dock. There's a girl sitting by herself.

"Hey!" I say.

"Hi." She smiles.

"Why aren't you with everyone else?" I ask.

"I feel so..weird. Like I don't fit in. I feel..different." She says.

"Different is great! Don't worry about being different, this camp is what that's for! To be comfortable! To bond with people who are going through the same thing you are!" I say.

"Thank you so much." She says.

"Hey listen, I had the same problems. I still do. But this camp helps me be myself." I say.

"Really?" She asks.

"Yes!" I say.

"Well thank you!" She says and gets up and walks to a group. They smile at her and hug her. She then turns around and gives me a thumbs up. I smile at her and just turn to look at the water.

I honestly never liked to swim. I've always been afraid of the water. Long story.

I decide to get up and go meet the girls. I stand up and just as a I do, I slip on a wet part of the dock. I scream and once I'm about to fall, two hands catch me.

"Gotcha." He says and smiles.

"Jackson!" I say and jump in his arms in a huge hug.

''I haven't seen you in so long, I miss you!" I say. Jackson is literally the bestest guy friend in the world.

"Thanks so much for catching me by the way." I say and we laugh.

"No problem." he laughs.

Then the girls see me and call me over to sit with them.

"Well I'll catch up with you later but nice seeing you!" I say and hug him and go to sit with them.

"He's a cutie!" Brielle says.

"You guys can have him." I laugh.

"Well maybe I'll go mingle!" Brielle says.

"Good luck!" I say to her.

"I'm going back to our room because I don't feel good." Ronni says.

"Aw do you want me to come?" I ask.

"No it's okay, addy is coming with me because she doesn't feel good either." She says.

"Okay bye girls!" I say and they wave and walk away.

I just sit there and look around. Enjoy the sight everyone having fun.

Then someone sits next to me. Hallway boy!

"Hi!" I say.

"Um..hi." He says and smiles nervously, looking at the ground.

"How are you? Didn't I see you earlier?" I ask and we both laugh a little.

"Yeah that's me! Sorry I didn't mean to bump into you." he says.

"That's alright! What's your name?" I ask.

"I'm uh..I'm Hayes." He says. He's so adorable.

"What's wrong?" I ask and laugh.

"I'm sorry I'm just so nervous and you're so pretty." He says and instantly regrets it. His face is beat red.

"Aw thank you! I'm Destiny by the way!" I say.

"Will I see you later on at the bonfire bonding?" I ask.

"Yes." He smiles.

"Woah slow down there, you don't wear makeup!" Ronni says.

"Well I wanted to look at least a little decent tonight." I smile.

"Why is your face getting so red? There's a boy..THERE'S A BOY!" Addy says.

"No there's not! Boys have cooties." I say.

"Cooties? Really what is this first grade?" Bri says.

"Fine there's a boy!" I say and get all like flip out like crazy monkeys in the zoo.

"WHO IS IT? WHATS HIS NAME?" Addy asks.

"Um..hayes I think?" I say and they all scream.

"REMEMBER EARLIER WE SAID THAT HE WAS GOING TO LIKE YOU?! THATS WHO WE WERE TALKING ABOUT!" Ronni screams.

"You guys are crazy." I say and finish my makeup.

I put on black casual Comfy shorts, a cute tank, and my flip flops and just leave my hair natural. I love it because it's dirty blonde and just reaches to my butt.

I put on my deoterant, perfume, and all that jazz to smell good for him. Wow I've never really felt this way before. I'm so nervous, I kinda like it.
