MONTHS HAD PASSED BY since the whole James and Bella situation, summer had come and gone and school had once again took up all the time that Sunny Hale had. The months that had passed by however, had seemingly been the best of the blonde vampires immortal life. She found herself completely taken with the idea of Bella Swan being family — a thought that left Rosalie a scowling mess. Some would say that the blonde vampire was jealous with the amount of time her sister was spending time with the human. Life as a Cullen vampire was simple as they usually kept to themselves — venturing out to bond with new people was such a new and exciting experience that Sunny had yet to experience.
Bella Swan couldn't help but to feel the strong hatred that Rosalie Hale felt for her, however. It was a little off putting for her for some time, but seeing that grand smile on Sunnys face whenever the duo hung out was well worth the bad vibes. Rosalie never said anything bad to Bella, it was only was just a long cold hard stare directed to her before she stomped away from the girls - all unbeknownst to Sunny.
"I hope you like the room" Sunny giddily replied, holding her arms wide to showcase her newly designed bedroom that Bella hadn't ventured into yet.
Bella nodded in response, shyly taking a seat on the queen bed with Sunnys encouragement. The whole room just seemed to perfectly reflect who the blonde vampire was as a person. It was a bright room thanks to the grand windows along the walls, with green plants to the mass littered throughout to contrast to the brown and white tones that where used with the bed, drawers, closet, and carpet.
The brunette had only ventured into her boyfriends room, and even he lacked a bed and other characteristics that corresponded with a "teenager" in modern times. Looking at Sunnys room, however, she believed could easily be mistaken for any common teen.
"You have a bed" Bella stuttered out, rubbing her hands against the soft quilt she had situated at the corner of said bed "Edward mentioned you guys don't sleep"
Sunny shrugged her shoulders in response as she took a quick seat bedside Bella "its just for appearance really — not that we have humans guests over often" the blonde commented. Newly brighten golden eyes narrowed at nothing in particular "I just think a room looks weird without one too"
Bella seemed to be contempt with the answer, letting out a soft chuckle at her friend's proclamation. Sunny brighten at the sound, following Bella's gaze as the human took a peak at the photos, posters, and knick knacks situated around the bedroom. In its entirety, it looked well lived in when comparing to that of her boyfriends. It was as tidy as would be expected but the amount of 'clutter' situated around various dressers, shelves and Sunnys desk brought much needed character.
"You got a lot of old rock posters" Bella pointed out as she raised from the bed to get a better look at said posters encased in various picture frames. An old QUEEN one caught her eye, visibly older by the worn edges — it was the signatures scattered around the poster that really caught her, and with a small gasp she instantly caught the vampires attention.
"Didn't take me for much of a rock fan, huh?" Quipped Sunny playfully, bright golden eyes gleaming in silent happiness as she too admired the poster — ah. Great times.
"Can't say that I did" responded Bella quietly as she took a quick peek at the girl next to her. Sunny Hale, with all the time she's know her, has still became such an anomaly to the girl. Besides the basic information such as interests and relative age she transitioned, the girl didn't know much. Bella remembered bringing up the vampire to Edward some time after she originally met her, questioning how and when she was turned but was instantly turned down as her boyfriend thought it would be best if Bella reached out to the girl herself. However, as the human stood next to the vampire with the question at the tip of her tongue, she couldn't find it in herself to ask such questions. The pure happiness that overcame Sunnys face at just being in Bellas presence encouraged her to not ruin the mood she was in.
"It's real" Sunny simply stated, never removing her gaze from the QUEEN poster as Bella glanced at the vampire confusingly — removing her from whatever stump she had been in moments before. "The poster I mean"
Bella looked between Sunny and the poster in question incredulously, all while the vampire tried to contain the giggles from leaving her pink lips at the sight of such a confused girl. "It's signed" Bella pointed out simply, as if saying she couldn't believe Sunny could be that old. She sure didn't act like it compared to the other vampires of the family.
"It is" Sunny giggled out "I went to a concert of there's sometime in the late 70s. Emmett came too"
"And you got them to sign something" Bella breathed out in pure disbelief. The human was literal steps away from such a thing that could be hanged up in museums.
"Yeah it wasn't hard — Emmett thinks I got it so easily because Roger Taylor had some sort of thing for me"
Bella Swans mind was completely blown and it definitely showed by the awe that overcame her face. Was it now too weird to ask about her life before all of this? Is it even appropriate to ask a vampire their age?
"You can ask if you want" Sunny simply stated. The softness of her statement assuring Bella that questions were welcomed — at this rate they would be family soon anyway.
Bella coughed out nervously, retreating back to the comfort of Sunnys bed with the girl following after. "Where you changed around there? The seventies I mean" she quietly asked as she peered at the vampire sat idly beside herself — Sunnys smile never waived as Bella asked such an intrusive question.
"Yeah" Sunny nodded "in '72"
That explained everything Bella thought simply. Sunny appeared to not have been able to leave such a decade behind which was evident in her chose of fashion and hair. It kinda fit the vampires whole aesthetic — suited her greatly with the simplicity of it all. Bella could almost imagine her rocking bell bottoms like the ones she was wearing now with platforms shoes and dancing along to discos greatest. She could imagine her participating in many of the movements of the time — marching alongside people that just wanted their voices to be heard. The images just made the human love the vampire even more.
"Wow" was all Bella could utter "you were honestly living through the best decade yet"
Sunny chuckled lightly as she nodded in agreement "I think so too"
Bella almost wanted to ask how she ended up the way she was, but the way Sunny had moved past such a revelation so quickly to talk about the pop culture of the seventies proved to Bella that she didn't want the girl to pry any further. So the human left it at that for the day, assuring herself that she had many years to come to unravel the mystery that was Sunny Hale.
