Atmosphere's P.O.V:

"Tell me again why we are all going back to the coast for another weekend at the beach house?" I asked my best friend.

He stopped chewing on one of the warm chocolate chip cookies I had just baked and stared at me with wide eyes.

"Gosh, your tells are to easy." I giggled before leaning forward, "Colby is gonna propose to me again, isn't he?" I questioned.

"Uhhh, no." He awkwardly chuckled before shoving another cookie into his mouth, "Why would you think that?" He asked, a few crumbs falling from his mouth and onto the once clean floors.

I rolled my eyes at him, "Cause you guys are acting the same way you did before Colby tried asking me the first time." I pointed out.

"Yeah and then his own baby cock-blocked him." Jake chuckled to himself, "But I can't lie to you." He sighed.

"Great, so I'm right, aren't I." I grinned as I wiggle my eyebrows.

He leaned forward on the kitchen island, "But I also can't break my promise to Colby." He said.

"Jake." I gasped, "But I'm your best friend." I pouted.

"And he's my best friend as well, Atmosphere."

My eyes widen, "I'm shocked." I mumbled, "And also heart broken."

He gently rolled his eyes at me, "Oh, don't be like that." He chuckled again.

"Jake...." I whined, "Please tell Colby that he doesn't have to do this for me." I begged.

"Atmosphere, just let it be." He sighed before walking over to the living room.

"Why did you say yes?" I questioned him as I spun around on the chair.

"What you mean?" He questioned back.

"I know that Colby would have never asked for my hand in marriage if he didn't ask you first for permission."

"I wasn't all for it at first." He sighed as he sat down on the couch, his chin resting on his palms, "I told him to give me the night to think about it."

"And you still said yes?" I questioned.

He eyed me, "Did you want me to say no?" He questioned, but I shook my head.

"No." I whispered as I made my way over to him, "It's just everything we have been through, I thought that maybe..."

"Atmosphere..." He breathed, "Even if I had said no, Colby would have still asked you to marry him. And even though I never did approve of your guys' relationship from the start... you guys were always better together then apart. And I don't want to be the reason why you both never have your happy ever after."

A small smile appeared on my face, "Thank you." I whispered, before pulling him into a tight hug.

"I mean it when I say I want you to be happy, Atmosphere." He said, "And I will do everything in my power to help provide you with the happiness that you deserve."

I slowly pulled away from him, admiring those light chocolate eyes that always brought me comfort... always brought me hope.

"I love you, Jake." I whispered, slightly giggling for being cheeky at the moment.

"I love you too, Atmosphere." He smiled weakly.

Soon the cries of a tiny infant flooded the entire apartment. Our eyes darted over to Rayn's nursery room and stayed there for a second until Jake spoke up.

"I'm gonna go check on him."

"Okay." I whispered.

As he disappeared into the bedroom, the cries soon were replaced with laughter. It was something only Jake was able to do. He was always the light... my light. And now my son's light as well.
