Months had passed, the twins had their fair share of nightmares and societal obstacles to overcome.
Hitoshi and I were there to comfort and guide them every step of the way, the search for their parents was still ongoing but nothing had come up so far.

A phone rang from somewhere in the house so I went in search of it,
"Is this the pro Hero Chargebolt?" The person on the other end asked.
"Yes" I replied taking a seat at the table.
"Oh that's good, we found the parents of those children. There was a DNA match at one of the hospitals we looked into."

Oh wow, finally after all this time they've found them. I made my way to the twins room and peaked in spying Hitoshi playing with the two.
"We've called them to come to the station, we'll meet you there in an hour." The line dropped and so did my heart.

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't gotten attached to the pair. They filled the house with a joy I hadn't known it was missing.
Pushing open the door caught everyone's attention,
"Hey what's wrong?" Hitoshi asked concerned about the saddened look in my face.

"Nothing. Blue, Amber they've found your parents. We're going to take you to meet them now."
Half hour later we pulled up at the station and we're walking towards a conference room. The officer we met led us to a plain door and opened it to reveal a man and woman. The man had jet black hair and golden eyes whilst the woman had white hair and blue eyes, she growled menacingly as we entered blue eyes glowing slightly.

"Those are not my children." She snarled "They smell of others there's no link, they're no better than mutts."
I know I'd only just met the pair but there was no way I was having this.
"HEY, don't ever call them that. Your twins were stolen from you five years ago and now they're back, why can't you see that?"

The woman in front of us was now seething, Hitoshi stepped in front of them protectively "Those things are not and never will be my children." She hisssd before storming out, the male on the other hand slowly approached hands outstretched so that it was clear he meant no harm.

"I'm sorry about that." He spoke evenly to the twins as he crouched down,
"You two have grown so big, and so strong. Not to mention handsome and beautiful, we've missed you both every day but now we know you're safe." He paused before sighing
"I'm sorry but I have to go now." Reluctantly he stood and walked out the door, I quickly followed after him.

"What was that all about." I seethed, how could they be so cold towards their own children? Why were they leaving without them?
"It's to do with our quirks, they're animalistic so we tend to have animalistic traits. Especially when it comes to children, if a pup is handled by humans or others then the scent immediately makes them an outsider, no longer ours and is seen as a threat." His face showed genuine sorrow as he stared back to the room where the twins hugged Hitoshi.

"I'm just glad they're safe, hey Chargebolt. Could you take care of them for us? Please." The pain of having to even ask that question must have been immense, trusting strangers with your children.
I nodded at him and a relieved smile crossed his face "Thank you" he turned and left without another word.

"Where did they go?" Blue asked as we watched his fathers retreating figure.
"They said that you would be happier living with us what do you think. Want to stay with me and Hitoshi."
"I KNOW I DO" Amber squealed as she ran at us.

"What do you think honey, want to adopt two troublesome pups?" I laughed, Hitoshi joined in a moment later.
"If Kiri and Bakugo can adopt a teleporting boy I'm sure we can handle two little pups." He joked watching the pair run down the hallway before starting to follow.

"Does that mean we can call you Dad?" Blue called from the entrance of the station.
"Yes I guess it does.
"Hey Dad can I feed Socks when we get home" Amber asked before getting into an argument with Blue, I think he wanted to feed the cat too.
Hitoshi went to go resolve the argument and usher the two into the car.

I watched the three fondly as I sped up a little so I wouldn't get left behind.
I guess that now we're a family, a slightly dysfunctional and chaotic family. But a family none the less.
