Miley and Hannah sat down together. Hannah made some bacon and fries, toasted four pieces of bread, brewed a cup of coffee for her and a glass of milk for Miley. Following that, Hannah wondered if there was anything in particular which she should make for dinner when Michael comes home. She couldn't think of anything in particular. There was the idea of having sushi that they could order from a restaurant that was a few blocks away. They make good sushi. Chinese? She thought and shook her head.
"How about Indian?" Miley suggested.
"Good." Hannah nodded. "It has been some time since we had Indian food. Let's do it. Thanks my love." She kissed Miley on her forehead.
They finished up breakfast. Miley chugged down her glass of milk. Hannah finished her coffee and then made some more. There were few things she wanted to unwrap that got delivered along with the clock. She then stepped outside the kitchen. The clock stood silently against the wooden wall which divided the kitchen and their living room. It was in a perfect position. Once you enter the living room the clock stood on the left waiting for someone to pass and look at it in its glory.
Hannah checked the clock once more. It was working fine. She couldn't figure out a way to make the merry-go-round spin. Eventually, after trying a few times to manually fix it, she gave up. "I'll try to figure it out later." She sighed.
Miley said goodbye and left for school. Hannah cleaned the torn plastic and empty boxes lying around. She opened a tightly packed small box. She carefully unwrapped it. She already knew what will be inside the box. There was a name tag of the product stuck on top of the box. There was a small traditional teacup. A Noritake Nippon Cobalt and Gold Moriage Hand Painted Teacup. It is beautifully hand painted with cobalt blue borders & gold gilt trim with Moriage gold beading & scroll decoration in the form of grapes & leaves on a scrolling vine surrounded by intricate gold beading. The cup measures 2" tall, 1 1/2" deep, & 3 1/4" mouth. It is in mint condition, no chips, cracks, or eroded to the gold decoration. A lovely addition to any collection.
A cabinet was tightly and safely attached onto the nails on the wall alongside the clock where other potteries were safely kept inside. She added her new teacup in it. Then there was a wooden hand crafted crane placed outside the cabinet on the wooden stand which was attached onto the wall on the cabinet's right side. Two vases, a pocket clock, an old ritual bell were kept inside the cabinet, and a gramophone was placed on a small wooden table which was on the cabinet's left side.
Hannah's day felt moving at a slow pace. It hardly felt moving at all. As if things has stopped in its way. Time didn't exist and whatever day she was in seemed to never end. So, she decided to visit the shop from where she had bought the clock and ask for any useful information that could tell her the history behind this clock and hopefully she'll find something which will help her fix the merry-go-round. She was also curious about Miss Balentine Fortune and what made her possess such a piece. Usually she gets a pamphlet or at least two pages of information for the antiques which she usually purchases. But this clock was an exception. She just wanted to buy it regardless of receiving less or even in the complete absence of information regarding it. She was charmed by the clock. Most likely its existence pulled her towards it. In any case if she acquires any information about the clock or its previous owners then it might prove to be informative. Since there was no information online either.
She wore a white shirt, slim black jeans, and black sandals. She also wore a brown jacket on top, sunglasses covering her beautiful eyes, and carried a brown frame bag. She locked the door and drove towards the store.
The bell hanging on top of the door inside jingled once Hannah opened the front door. It was not too big nor a small shop. She stepped inside and looked at the bell to examine it. It was a small and old bronze bell hanging above. It would jingle and notify the owner inside the store once anyone comes inside. A small scrolling vine design surrounded the bell. The floor was wooden and a soft carpet lay on top. The walls were concrete and part of the furniture was wooden to keep the antiques on top. It was a clean shop. Highly prized antiques were placed inside the glass boxes. A woman stood behind the counter. She was the one Hannah talked and bought the clock from. She was not the owner but had been working for a year now. Hannah didn't know the owner personally nor have ever heard his name.
