Chapter 1

You may not know this but my name is Rosalynn Victoria Dash. I live a lone in some apartments that are run down and dirty. Here is how my story goes.

Daddy can you make me breakfast. Pleeeease, you make the best breakfast. Honey i just can't today okay, ask your brother. Yes sir. I run to my brothers room where he is playing his video game and say hey William will you make breakfast daddy told me to ask you. Give me a few minutes. But I'm hungry now i whine and he says ugh can't you see i am in the middle of a game. Yeah and i can also see you getting your butt whooped, so please. Fine then go play. Okay Will. He made my favorite swans man sausage, eggs, and orange juice and told me to get my baby brother out of the crib soon that he didn't want to hear him cry and i said yes sir with a salute and he just shrugged and walked off. I ate quickly and grabbed little Paully out of his crib and walked over to my friend Gillies which was three houses down from our apartments. The apartments i was talking about earlier that is where i am still. Anyway on my way their i see an ambulance and a police man on foot followed by two other cop cars. Go toward my apartments and i run back with my brother in my arms and i say hey that is my apartment and a cop said your apartment i said well my fathers and they said your brothers right over there and i say what happened and he said Rose i am sorry to tell you but dad passed away and i said take little paul and go fight for custody and he said i can't I'm only seventeen almost eighteen. and i said They will take him away, how far is your birthday a month and two days away let's ask if you can still fight and he asked the cops about custody of both of us and the cop said are you fit to do this and he said he watched me growing up so yes while holding Paul and i said i am his daughter let me see him now. I had demanded and they said alright and i walked over to him and said oh daddy, how i wish you could still be here for your kids. But you are with mom now. Good luck i will try to pray for you and put his cross necklace around his hand and laid it back down on his stomach and said i pray you will go to heaven and that he did his best for us all and then I kissed his cold cheek and said i will always remember you, love and miss you. Bye dad. And left walking back to my brothers and thinking if it was only me. I said William please stay healthy. and he said I am as healthy as i can get. That is what dad said when he was sick i wonder if he is sick like dad was but i was afraid to ask him.  So i had knew he was sick like dad when he left his will with me. We meaning my brother said you'll be in foster care and i told them that you both had to be housed together that you two have never been apart for more than the sleeping time and that you bottle feed him but they said this place is condemned until they know what killed him. and i said Oh. Thanks William. He said they called a ride here and i will be getting the papers signed and everything handled okay hang tight and make sure that you make everyone that tries to adopt you guys won't got it. Yes sir. And he said i know it is hard i will see you soon okay. I love you and i said i loved him back. My brother saved up all his money and took the rest of my fathers money and hid all of it on his body plus what he earned from him when he was dealing drugs and stealing. He said here take this and buy sluty clothes and sell your self if you have to and i said if i had to?. more of like a question than a statement. And he said it'll be okay you need to make a living and i said okay. And he shoved it in my shoes and a certain way and told me not today though okay sis. And i said yes sir. And then hugged him and left with my younger brother and said wave bye baby and he said his first word which was ro and i said good job buddy and he clapped his hands and i said yeah clap your hands. I was only ten and he was three. I said say Rose and he said Ross and i said Rose and he said Ros ieeee and i said good job. And we arrived at a house.. a huge house and it was amazing the outside of it had a glass door and the colors were pink and purple now i wanted to stay but no matter what i love my brother to, i won't let him down. And two girls walk out and said hi the one with long black hair with a light tan said i am Alexia and this is my wife pointing to the other girl with orange hair that was answering a text on her phone her name is Fae and and i said where do we sleep and i hope you have clothes for both of us and not just one and they said right a shower and i said oh and a tooth brush and a phone I'd like to text my brother and let him know i am still alive and so is our younger brother. I know how about you call him and i said text prefer and they said okay and she nudged Fae and said let her text her brother and she said oh sorry and handed me the phone and i texted him saying hey we arrived we are at two girls house and he said "behave" and i said we will. And they said Come inside. and i said We'd like to see the backyard first. and they said Okay. Their backyard was small but had a old play set there and they said sorry we've been meaning to upgrade that and i said it'll do as long as it won't break and they said how about some dinner and i said how about a shower and then a bottle huh baby. and he said Ninies. and i said yeah a Ninies and i hope there are bottles and not just sippy cups and they said we have a few and i said not glass either those things will break easily and i setup things all the time and he knocks things out of my hands too. and they said We have a few. And i said and then bed. and he said bed. and i said Look at you pretty soon you'll be talking in sentences and he said yeah. I bathed him with me and then said Ninies and he said yeah. As i was walking around with him and trying to find formula in the kitchen i found it in a drawer and it said Gerber and that kind gets him sick and i yelled that he couldn't have that kind and they walked in there saying what kind and i said he couldn't have Gerber or Enfamil and they said oh we have Similac. and i said good. and Fae reached on the top shelf. I said that it needed to be in my reach while i was here and they said okay. And put three of them on the counter.  I said paul let's see and i had made him his bottle and rocked and sang his favorite song which was by uncle Kracker it was called follow me and he went to sleep after i sang it twice and put him on my bed and then i said that I'd like to call my brother and take the phone to my room that i had no friends anyway and they said alright and i had called him and said how's it going with the paper work and he said good and i said alright i put him to bed with his diaper on and we will be up early too, earlier than usual and he said bye accidental though and i said gotcha and then i said i loved him and goodnight and he said the same.

The next Day at five a.m.

Hey screamed Paul for ten minutes straight and i finally got up and said okay baby and today we do accidental things and he said pee cow and i said ooh good thinking and let him pee on the couch and then made some butter bread, eggs, and orange juice and he drank his orange juice and i fed him little bites of bread and eggs as i ate too. By the time they got up which was 8 in the morning i said you guys should be awake by four-thirty a.m. because someone could have kidnapped us or we could've ran away. And they said but you weren't and you didn't i said doesn't mean it won't happen next time and i went to read him a book from the nursery it was both of our favorite book called green eggs and ham by Dr. Sues. And then it read almost noon after reading it like a hundred times and he was fast asleep so i put him in his crib and grabbed a few Junie b. Jones books and read them all before he was up and once they found out that they had broken bracelets and necklaces and pee on the couch and curtains they yelled waking him up and i went in their with him i said you woke him up thanks. It took me like a hundred times to read a book to him for him to fall asleep. They asked loudly who did it and i said little Paul what did you do and he said pee and wear jewels. And i said little Paul why and they said awe it's okay. and i said great under my breath. Little man we better step up our game. Break disc. Yes we should little Paully. And we went to the game room and broke CDs and game discs. I walked out to make sure no one was coming and good thing no one was cause i had to fake walking pass i yelled for paul and look in the room and see broken discs everywhere and i said no Paul bad and he just said oops and i said that is a no no and they came in and seen the big mess and said Paul do you need a time out. And i said we don't do time outs because it lowers childrens self-esteem and makes them unhappy and not have friends. They said no game room for a week and i said we can manage and they said you know you are very smart what grade are you in and i said i am ten years old and in eighth grade. They said what classes do you take? I said the basics only in more advanced classes. And they said how about we put you in a new school i said no i have friends, well that don't have phones but still i have friends. And they said how about a week in the school and then you decide.  No i want to stay in my school i am in now. Okay I'm just saying that you could have a better future for yourself and your younger brother. Give it at least a little thought. Fine i might give it some thought.
