Chapter Seven
Today, we start the next phase. The physical stuff. Adam woke us up early to get our new schedules. Eve, Heather and I, were all gathered by the front desk with the others while he explained some of the activities we would be doing. I silently noted to myself to keep a close eye on Heather.
I started to tune out, thinking about how I did on the academic phase. It was all about remembering stuff, sometimes it even helped to make up little songs about the stuff. One of them was, "Christopher Columbus sailed the ocean blue, in 1492." I'll probably fail the music class.
I snapped out of my daze, to hear Adam calling out names. When he called mine, I went up and took my schedule from him and went back to my friends.
After we had all gotten our schedules, I turn to see Adam talking again. "Okay, so this phase will be a little different.", he starts.
"We will only spend half of the day to learn the rules of the game, or how do it. The rest of the week will be spent with a one on one administrator. For the team sports you will have a coach. You will compete with the other team. We will all start with the team games. Then, you will be assigned your administrator for the other things. On your schedule, you will see a colored sticker next to each team sport. If it's red, your on the Red team, Blue, then your on the Blue team. You have until after lunch. Then, you can meet me on the north court for basketball. Don't be late." He finished.
Eve, Heather, and I ran over to each other to compare our schedules.
"Crap. I got blue for basketball, so I'm on my own there, and then red volleyball." Eve said, sounding disappointed.
"Well at least we all got blue for soccer; that should be fun." I say trying to cheer Eve up.
In the end, it was Heather and I against eve for basketball, Eve and Heather against me for volleyball, and we were all blue for soccer.
Heather and Eve decided to go look at the courts and fields, I didn't want to go with them.
I decided to back to the dorms, hoping to find something else to do. Then I suddenly remembered my mother's locket. I pull it out of my suitcase, and open it.
Inside, there is a picture of my mom and me as a baby. On the other side is one of dad. Lucy wasn't born yet, so she wasn't in it. As I stared at it, I began to feel calm. I look at the time and realized it's almost time for lunch.
I quickly put the locket back and start walking. The ride to the lunch building was a crowded one. I noticed that there were others that were in lab coats that looked much to old to be here. I shrugged it off as the shuttle pulled to a stop.
As I walked past the science building, deep in thought, I hear a loud boom, and suddenly feel the stomach lurching sensation of being thrown into the air. Then everything went black.
