The role of the Omega; what was there to say about this role? All you life, you had come across Packs who abused their Omegas, and it made you angry that they would do that to an innocent wolf. The same went for your Pack. You didn't want to leave it and become a permanent Loner, by you also didn't like how they abused him.
The day you became a Hunter, you saw Omega at the edge of the camp, glowering at you with bared teeth. It made you feel a little bad for him, but you stayed clear nonetheless. Also not to mention the fact that you stood up for him once and had the punishment of having to help him for a day. They figured: if you cared about him so much, why not help him with his role?
You walked into the camp, a few rabbits grasped with your sharp fangs. Today's hunt had been good, as it has been for quite some time. You threw your catch with the other prey before sitting down beside it, letting out a sigh. You had a great role, but you didn't care for it so much; all your catches went to the upper ranked wolves, the Hunters and the Patrolling groups. Did Omega get even half of what they ate? No, not at all.
You looked over to where he slept, under a tree near the edge of the camp. He laid there, seeming to be deep in thought or asleep. Instantly, a wolf walked up and batted his head roughly with a paw, forcing him awake. "Get up, Omega! Alpha has something to tell you. He wants you in his den." The wolf growled, and he complied without complaint or anything to say. He started to walk towards the Alpha's den, and the way he walked seemed as if he didn't care or wasn't ashamed of his role.
"(Y/N)? Why're you staring at that mutt?" A muffled voice asked as they walked up. A fellow Hunter had a big jackrabbit in his grasp, and you got up with a glare. "He's not a mutt. He's just misunderstood." You replied, not in the mood to hear it. He seemed a little surprised, considering how you still stood up for him after your punishment the last time. You could be pretty shy, and voicing your opinions was rare. "Besides, I'm going to talk to him today."
The Hunter threw his catch onto the pile as well, sitting next to you. "You? Talk to Omega? Hah! You can't even look at him without getting embarrassed or frightened!" He teased, to which you bat a paw at him. "Shut up!" You retorted in a slightly angered tone. You understood he was teasing, but still didn't like being made fun of for being shy around Omega. "He's talking to Alpha at the moment. When he is dismissed, I'll go talk to him." You told, grabbing the same jackrabbit just put in the pile. "Hey! What're you gonna do with that? It took me a while to catch it, and so help me, if you give it to Omega..."
You rolled your (E/C) eyes, starting to walk away. His complaints stopped as you got further, and you were silently grateful. Just as you were about to approach his den, you heard a growl behind you. You turned to see Omega standing there, baring his teeth. "What do you want, (Y/N)? Come to tease me with food, as well?" He asked angrily, his fur bristling up. You stumbled back some, a little frightened by his glare. This was no surprise, especially to Omega.
"Well?" He asked, his body tending up as you stayed quiet. You just dropped the rabbit from your mouth, stepping back. You continued to stay quiet, even when he walked up and sniffed the prey. He looked at you, sitting as he did. Despite your roles, he was slightly bigger -and probably stronger- than you. "It's for you, um... what's your real name? I don't like the term Omega much." You stuttered out slightly, sitting quickly as well. He tilted his head, before slowly standing up yet again and bending down, starting to eat his food.
It was an uncomfortable silence for the most part, but you just stayed and watched; you wanted to get to know him more afterwards. He eventually finished, blood smeared across the white fur on his muzzle. "Sabre. And everyone knows your name, after that one stunt you pulled." He seemed to smirk as your flattened your ears, looking away. He didn't seem to like that you stood up for him, and in fact seemed a little embarrassed that day; the attention drawn to him seemed to make everything a little worse for his situation for a while.
"Look, I may be mean, cruel and a little too prideful for my own damn good; in fact, I thank you for standing up for me. But, listen: I can take care of myself, alright?" He explained, walking up and rubbing his head against yours. You didn't know what to say, considering you found a good side of the overly-prideful Omega. You only brought yourself to nod as you touched your nose to his, smiling wolf-like at him.
You planned to do whatever it took to see that good side of him again, and he really only planned to show it to you.
