I woke up in a cold sweat. My arm had fallen asleep since I slept on it. I realized that I was scared to go to the Witches cave. I sat up, put my head in my knees and rocked back and forth, back and forth just like Mom had always told me to do do I was scared and anxious. I looked up and took a deep breath. I got up and changed clothes. I went out the door and walked over to John's house. I knocked on the door and his mom answered. "Hello, Margariem*yawn* how are you? I'll go wake up John. Sleepy Head." She said when she answered the door. She turned away and came back with John. He quickly ran to his room when he saw me and I looked at his mom for an explanation. "He's just going to get dressed." She said with a smile. I nodded and said, "I guessed that." He came back fully dressed and he told his mom he'd be back for supper at 5. "But what about breakfast and lunch?" His mom demanded with her hands on her hips. "I'm not really hungry. If I'm hungry I'll come home for lunch. Okay?" John replied. "She said then she leaned in and gave him a big smooch on the cheek. " MOOOOM!" John complained, "You're embarrassing me!" His mom just smiled. AI grabbed his hand and pulled him away. I gave him one of the Walky-Talkys and we began to head down the mountain. "Have you got a camera?" I asked. "Yup," he said proudly holding it up. I let go of his hand and immediately regretted it. He looked at our hands dangling right beside each other and took mine in his. He looked at me and said, "If I'm holding your hand ill know you're not gone yet." I nodded in agreement and hoped I wasn't blushing. I could see his face was red again just like last time we were in the mountain. We got to the cave and John squeezed my hand "Do you have to go in?" He asked quietly. "No, I don't have to John, I want to. The Murdsleys will leave us alone if I do this." I replied after a little hesitation. Then John hid just around the corner and I walked into the cave. I walked for about five minutes into the cave and I heard mumbling. I squinted and through the dark, I saw an old woman standing around a pot swirling some goop that changed colours every few seconds. I reached over and with a deep breath, I lightly tapped her shoulder.
