My best friend Margarie and I raced down the snowy mountain. Margarie slipped and fell on her back "Hahahaha Margie you slipped!" I said. I laughed so hard I fell on my butt. Now it was Margie's turn to laugh. " Hahaha, John you slipped! I'm was laughing so hard I couldn't reply. Margie got up and flopped down beside me. My face went hot. "Your face is all red, you must be really cold," Margie said concerned. "Yup, must be cold," I said, laughing nervously "Let's go to my house for some cocoa." She nodded in agreement. We walked back up the mountain to the village. We went to my street, Gobernockel Avenue and headed to my house. She looked at me and made a face. "Gobernockel boy" she teased."Stoop" I complained. She laughed and we continued to walk. When we got to my house some people were waiting outside the door. "The Mursleys" Margie growled. The Mursleys were the town bully's except their way of bullying is more verbal. "Hey, Margrette!" One said. "My names Margarie" she snapped back. They all laughed. "Hey, guys, settle down, settle down!" The leader said. "What do you want Mark?"Margarie growled. " Ooh, feisty, calm down. I just have a dare for you" he replied. "Try me," she said. "Ok, I will" Mark looked behind him at his cronies "I dare you...to go into the Witches cave." I inhaled sharply. No, she can't go to the Witches cave! Everyone that goes there dies! I looked over at Margie and shook my head no. Margie ignored me and said, "I'll do it but under one condition." "What is it?" Mark said slowly. "If I do it and come back you have to promise to leave us alone," She said smiling. Mark promised and they shook hands. John did not notice that Mark was crossing his fingers and therefore not taking his part of the deal. I was about to lose my crush to a witch.
