Golden, like daylight

Karlie had never considered herself a jealous person, at least that's how she felt until she started dating Taylor. It was true, she hardly had any reason to feel jealous once they became a couple, and at the point they were in their relationship she trusted her fiancé more than anything, however, she also knew Taylor could be very charming and friendly, those two were definitely a dangerous combination.

Her fiancé was performing in New York the next day and her twin sisters were visiting for the weekend. It had been quite some time since they had seen her perform, so they jumped right in when Taylor suggested they come to the sound check that afternoon.

"Karlie mentioned earlier that Halsey was going to rehearse before you" Kimby mentioned while they were in the back of the car, on their way to the venue.

"Yes, she will be doing a short set as well, so she might be done by the time we get there"

Karlie was currently rummaging through her phone, pretending not to listen to the conversation going around her.

"I can text her if you want, maybe she could stick around a few minutes after rehearsal so you girls can meet her"

The way Karlie rolled her eyes at the mention of her friend was not lost on Taylor, but she pretended not to notice.

"You would do that?"

"Of course I would. Anything for you, girls" she threw in a wink for good measure, and sent a quick text to Ashley.

Once they arrived to the venue, Taylor had to go backstage to get ready for rehearsal. The three girls took a seat near the stage and patiently waited.

"So, what's the deal with Halsey" Kariann was the first one to address the elephant in the room.

"Nothing, Ashley is a very nice woman"

"We are pretty sure she is, I mean, she's friends with Tay... but there is something you are not telling us"

The jealousy she felt was completely unfounded, and she almost felt weird by telling them. Almost.

"I don't know, it's just... she filled Taylor's dressing room with balloons on her birthday" the sisters looked at her as she had grown an extra head.

"And that bothers you, because..."

"It's not that she sent the balloons, it was more Tay's reaction to them"

"What do you mean?" The twins were genuinely curious now.

"I don't know. I just feel like doesn't get that excited about things between us, you know"

"Karl, really, listen to what you are saying and how silly it sounds" Kimby said.

"Listen, I am not trying to discredit what you are feeling, but this is Taylor we are talking about. She basically just wrote an entire album professing her love to you, where she goes on and on about wanting to marry you"

They stayed silent for a while after that.

Karlie was still lost in thought going over what her sister had just said, that she didn't even notice her fiancé and Halsey making their way, until they were in front of them.

"Girls, I would like you to meet Halsey" she then motioned to the sisters.

"Ashley, these are Kariann and Kimby Kloss, Karlie's sisters"

Halsey immediately greeted the girls as well as Karlie, who she had met on a previous occasion.

"It is very nice to meet you girls, Taylor has told me so much about you"
