The room had the same stitch as always. A heavy musky smell with a hint of expired flesh. As she patiently sat, her fingertips lightly tap against the table. She makes her own tune to the beats. The walls echos each of her delicate movement, almost as if the room sung along with her.
A loud buzzing noise stops the rhyme of her creativity flow. A harsh voice boomed through the speaker. Lilith quickly cover her sensitive ears, barely blocking out the turbulent roar.
"SCP-3928 is ready for 8576 Class-D personal."
A pure click is heard behind a heavy metal door. It slowly swing open, exposing a man in orange. He look unkept. He hair was as shaggy as his beard. Even his skin took a grayish color, showing no soul whatsoever. Lilith could tell he was not taking care of himself. Almost like a lifeless hunk of tissue, he staggered inside the room. His was mouth slightly apart, expressing pain with every movement.
"You look awful!" Lilith quickly pushes away from the table and stands up. Her natural instinct was to help this man.
The man shoots his arms up around his face in defense. "Don't come near me!"
The sudden shout startled Lilith. Why on earth would he be so horrified to see her? What would she do to him?
"Please let me help you. You don't look well." She put her hands up, showing a sign of submission. "I wont hurt you, I promise."
His eyes peek between his shivering fingers. He saw a small slim women standing in front of him. Her sliver hair was the first thing his sight had acknowledged. It was long and fell past her knees, despite that it looked healthy. It strangely had a shimmering affect against the dim light. Her eyes was a graceful shade of light blue, while her face looked captivating and youthful. It was clear she was not capable of being a threat.
"Please let me help you." She says again, this time with a soft-spoken voice.
His stance loosens up. He had not expected a beautiful women to be stuck in the same facility as him.
Slowly he became more relax. "Who are you?"
Lilith places her hand on her chest and smiles. "I'm Lilith. It's nice to meet you."
"What's your motive?" He was still on edgy. His teeth grinds, trying to show some sort of a dominant stance.
"I don't have a motive. I just want to help you."
This was truly Bewildering to him. "That's all?'
"Yes! I'm not going to hurt you."
She pulls out a chair, waiting for the man to sit. With caution he walks to the table and sits. His eyes reminded on Lilith. Her beauty was hard to ignore. She pours him a cup of water and carefully handed it too him. Without wasting time he grabs the water, spilling most of it.
Wanting to break the silence, she speaks 'What's your name?"
"James" He grumbles into the cup of water as he gulps the cold liquid down his dry throat. He wipes his mouth as he pour another cup, "What kind of SCP are you? Your the only one who has offered me water."
"Does that matter?" She smiles, happy she was able to tame his thirst.
"What do you mean? Of course it matters." He looks up at her and narrows his eyebrows, "How do I know if your not a monster or not."
"Well.." Lilith walks back to her side of the table, "I guess you make a good point." She straightens up her posture and inhales deeply, "You probably already heard of me."
Now curious, James looks up from his water, "What do you mean?"
"I'm Mother Nature"
Her awkward smile didn't lighten up the conversation, if anything it made the atmosphere more tense.
"What.." His words betray him and fly past his mouth before he could stop himself, "Mother nature? Your an actual person?"
"Yeah. I know it's weird, but it is what it is. Don't question it. You wouldn't understand. Just know I'm a friend to mankind." She reaches across the table and kindly holds his hand.
She was soft against his rough skin. It was the only form of kindness James had experience in his entire life. Without realizing it he holds her hand tightly. A simply hand touch was enough to penetrate his shallow soul. It was a moment of bliss. He felt cared for, and perhaps loved. Not wanting this rare moment to past, he struggles to speak
"It's...It's good to meet you."
Her smile becomes larger, showing off her pearl white teeth. It was true enjoyment to make new friends. Her heart flutters with eagerness to learn more about James.
"Well James I-"
A dramatic roar rudely terminates the potential conservation. The noise streaks through the vent and rips loudly into the room. Lilith flinches, while James quickly jumps out of his seat. Water is splash across the floor, adding even more tension to each of them. The moment was ruined.
With his hands firmly in fists, James shouts, "What the fuck was that?!"
"I'm so sorry!" It was obvious Lilith was just as scared, "That was Zero. He lives in the room next to me. I had no idea-"
"No idea what? That it'll let out a roar loud enough to shake the walls???" James turns around and faces Lilith, who was attempting to clean up the spilled water. "Who's fucking Zero? Actually, WHAT is zero??"
"He.." she pushes looses hairs behind her ear, "He is a friend."
"What kind of friend makes a noise like that?!'
"I...I don't know."
She looks at the ground, unsure how to excuse her friend's actions. Zero had a problem with his temper, but she would've never expected a sudden roar like that. She couldn't help but wonder if he was okay. Was she the reason he had yelled? Was he hurt?
With that in mind, Lilith crawls to the vent. "Zero?"
Silence..
James looks down at her, he head slightly crooked to the side.
"I had a feeling this was too good to be true." He growls, his words barely making it passed his compacted teeth, "Your just as crazy as the rest of them."
Before Lilith had the time to respond, the speaker once again boomed throughout the room.
"CLASS-D 8576 PERSONAL SESSION IS OVER. RETURN TO ENTRANCE'
