Chapter 2

Mason arrived at school just in time to run into the most annoying girl, that tried to make him go out with her ever since freshman year. She hugged him tight and started squealing how nice it was to see him again and everything. Mason just ignored her and walked away to meet up with his friends. Becky followed him on his heels, talking about her holidays, even though Mason didn't listen. He greeted his friends and heard one of them whisper something really mean, causing them to laugh. Becky, or Rebecca Morton, was known as the 'drop them hot' girl in school.( hehe my way of saying she loves to turn guys on and then yeah...just drop them) And her next victim should be Mason, who didn't give a shit about her. After a while of being ignored, Becky gave up and tippled over to her so called friends.

Mason groaned as he fell down onto the bench. There were only ten minutes left until the first lesson, and he used the time to chat up and then went to the classroom.

Mason felt every single soul in the building, each with their own special color, only a handful matching one another's. The teachers walking around, students heading to their classes, even the caretaker's cat on the first floor. He watched it stroll through the school and drifted off into space.

Soon enough, he nearly ran into somebody. All he saw was a dark red shirt and plain black jeans and before he could even apologize, the boy was out of sight. Mason tried to feel where he was going, but there was just emptiness. Nobody was in the corridors but a few freshmen, then he tried to get rid of the weird feeling in his stomach and went to his first lesson.

Alec shook his head at the spaced-out guy who just ran into him. Tall, brown hair, his good looking body hugged by tight grey jeans and a black v-neck. He couldn't see his eyes because he had stared at the ground without noticing anything. He looked so deep in thought that Alec didn't dare to say anything and just walked away. He arrived at the classroom just in time with the bell and the English teacher. After a short talk they decided Alec shouldn't be introduced, because it would be pointless. Only about half of the persons of his first lesson would be with him in other classes. So he just walked in and sat down on an empty chair, looking like he'd done this everyday before. The girls stared at him, some boys too, and some notes with scribbled questions and offers to show him around or sit with him at lunch were thrown over to him. He grinned at one note with a phone number and the words 'call me maybe' on it, from a girl named Becky. Not like he'd be interested in them anyways, but it was funny how the girls already tried to draw his attention to them. As the lesson ended, some boys greeted him and asked if he wanted to join the football or soccer team, or if he was more into doing athletics. The girls slowly walked past him, smiling shyly, some started to flirt with him.

When he went to his Maths class, he already had his little crowd of people around him, without even trying anything. The second lesson wasn't really different from the first, besides the fact that he had two guys he knew sitting next to him. Their names were Luke and Tim if he got it right. He had heard so many new names already, and he knew there would be a lot more. All the following lessons were basically the same, he was already getting annoyed by being the new attraction of the school. So he just ignored the people that called him to sit with him at lunch and sat down at an empty table with his lunch. Who thought a goth guy could get so much attention from the popular kids in this school. It was even more than in his old school, what was nearly too much for him and he was sure he'd get some problems with going to the toilet alone if it'd go on like this. He waited for the first person to come to his table and ask if they could sit with him, and soon a boy stood in front of him. Surprisingly, it was one he had seen only once before, the guy that spaced away on the corridor. There was a silent greeting, and no words spoken after that too, but Alec could feel some kind of tension. They didn't look into each others eyes, and Alec only heard the boys' voice when he chuckled about Alec groaning how he couldn't even get a few minutes of silence as a few girls continued to hit on him and wink. Alec was happy when lunch time finally ended, and headed to his class. When he looked around for any persons he knew, right behind him appeared the guy from the corridor and lunch. Some boys called him and Alec over and he found out that the boys' name was Mason. The lesson went on way too slowly, all Alec could think about was this Mason guy. The next hours were nothing but a blur and the next thing he knew was how he walked through his front door and dropped down on the couch. The only person in his house was his sister Caroline, nicknamed Cookie because of her love for chocolate chip cookies. Alec chuckled at the thought and Cookie plopped down on the couch next to him. They had a small chat about their first day at school, then Cookie came up with the subject Alec was thinking of the whole time: boys. Cookie was just fourteen, but very sensitive and she always knew when something was up with her brother that he needed to talk about. So Alec told her about Mason and the tension he felt between them. And she listened and just hugged her brother. And somehow, Alec felt much better after talking to her.

So the next chapter. All unedited so sorry for any mistakes. Caroline is kind of based on the craziness of a girl I really like here, called xxWhoAteMyCookiexx and her story 'High School Scandal' was basically one of my inspirations to write an own story. You really should read it n_n a little bit of Caroline is also like me, I think she'll be an interesting combination. And she'll be crazy :D
(edit: I changed her age from thirteen to fourteen. I don't know, just felt like it.)

And I swear I can already imagine how I hide in a locker or something when the scene between Mason and Alec happens I hope I won't miss it o.O
