Xavier's POV:
I had my beta call the household just a moment ago to inform them that I have came her for a last-minute meeting. The knew I was already here searching their forests due to their constant reports on rouges. But they never wanted me inside their house, nor did I have interest in doing so.
Until now.
I need to get in that house more than anything. I need my mate in my arms, where nothing could ever hurt her.
I went up to their petite double doors and knocked, a loud booming noise coming from my hands hitting the wood. In a matter of seconds, the door was opened by the Luna, Ellie. My wolf, Hades, growled in my head.
'Our mate will never answer the door.' I nodded in agreement. You never know who could be at the door. What if it was a rouge, a murderer? Actually any male. I don't want my innocent angel to even look at another man and I don't want any other male to see my angel. I will be the only one who can cherish her and I'm the only one who is remotely good enough for her to look at. No other dirty, filthy male is good enough for her to even grace them with her acknowledgement of sight. I'm probably not good enough, but she's mine and she will never be taken from me.
I looked to the Luna and I could see the fear in her eyes.
"Alpha King," she acknowledged and bowed her head in a sign of submission. I grunted in respond, immediately pushing past her and into the shabby mansion. Immediately I smelt the intoxicating scent of my little princess, vanilla and lavender. The Alpha, John, came in and bowed his head in submission as well.
"My King," he addressed. I gave him a quick nod. "May I ask what you are doing here?"
"I'm here for my mate." I stated. I could easily kill them if they try to keep me from my mate, and they know it. John's eyes visibly got larger as he realized what I had just said to him.
"Yes. I am here for your daughter." I then saw the boy from earlier, her brother, Tanner, come towards me.
"You can't take my baby sister. She isn't even aware of werewolves. We kept it from her." He said, while raising his voice slightly. I raised an eyebrow.
"Why?" I asked. I heard a sniffle and I turned to see Ellie crying. John immediately went over to her and pulled her into his chest.
"We once ha a daughter before Tanner and a son after Tanner and before Aurora,"
'Aurora' my wolf and I purred. Our little mate is named after the most beautiful Disney princess. However, that animated princess is no-where near as beautiful as our princess.
John then continued, "Her name was Jane. When she was twelve we had Tanner. Two years later, Jane was fourteen, Tanner was two, and Ellie was pregnant with our third, a boy. Zachary. Jane had a relationship with a few pack members her age. There was this boy, Jack, who was sixteen already and shifted that she was in love with. They were 'dating' or so they called it. One day the two of them went to the forest by themselves. Rouges attacked them. When the warriors got there, Jack was already dead and the smell of rouge was all over Jane. They mistook her as a rouge and killed her. Ellie and I were so depressed we weren't even paying attention to Tanner, we were only paying attention to our baby that was to be born soon. When five months came, we gave birth Zachary, but when he came out he was dead. Ellie fell even deeper into depression, refusing to eat, drink, or leave the room. Two of her children were lost. I buried myself in work and we left our now three-year-old Tanner to fend for himself. A year later, we were slowly recovering and Ellie got pregnant again. We were so focused on the health of the baby that we didn't bother to learn unimportant things such as the gender or anything else. When five months came and passed, we still didn't have our baby. It was then six months and we were calling doctors from different packs across the country and continent. When we reached seven months a doctor from California came and told us what was wrong. Wolves grow, develop, and are birthed within five months. Humans take nine. We were on track for nine months to give birth to a human baby. Two months later Ellie gave birth to our baby girl, Aurora. We loved her with our whole existence, but we panicked. If it was a boy, he would have been able to defend himself, but with a girl, a human girl nonetheless, we were so worried the same thing would happen to her that happened to Jane. We never wanted anything to happen to her. We told her to never leave the house. We limited her contact with everyone, never wanting her to be close friends with anyone who could motivate her to leave us. When the pack found out we were very protective of our new human daughter, the word spread to other packs and she became a target. We limited her education, always keeping her in arms reach, never wanting any harm to come to her. She's perfect, innocent, and pure. The harsh outside world is too much for her..." he trailed off, because we both knew where this was going. I just shook my head.
I was sitting on the couch by now, completely intrigued with the story of why my mate's parents are so protective of her.
"I'm sorry for your losses, John, but your daughter will be with me. Aurora will be the Luna Queen, and you are aware how the Luna Queen is viewed by everyone." I said. John nodded, but Ellie placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry. I don't. I'm not caught up on how the werewolf hierarchy works," she said. I shook my head.
"No need for apologies, Ellie. The Luna Queen is considered the most important person for a whole werewolf kingdom. Every pack member is genetically very protective of the Luna Queen. The Luna Queen is what every pack member in every single pack in the whole North American Kingdom rally around. She is the common, how to I say, I guess in an analogy, trophy, for the packs. The Luna Queen is like the trophy that every pack wants to protect, love, serve, and cherish. She is what holds all of us together."
'However, no pack member who is male will ever see her. She is ours to look at and cherish' my wolf growled in my head, not liking the thought of another male even in the presence of my angel, let alone look at her. I completely agreed with him.
I was then snapped back to my surroundings when Tanner stood up.
"Yet you failed to mention she'll be even more of a target for the rebelling packs, the rival kingdom, and the rouges." He stated through a clenched jaw. I immediately stood up and pushed Tanner into the wall.
"Watch your mouth, pup," I seethed. "You don't think I know that? Are you questioning my ability to protect my mate?" Tanner narrowed his eyes at me. I threw him to the wall, satisfied with the crack that came from his back when he hit the wall.
"Take me to my mate," I said to John and Ellie. John nodded his head as Ellie cried in his chest. John led me through very few halls and to a very small "grand" staircase. We went up the stairs and down a few more halls. The smell of vanilla and lavender got even stronger. I pushed past John and Ellie and continued to follow the amazing scent of my angel. When I got to the door where her intoxicating scent was coming from, I turned the door and found that it was locked. I back up, ready to break the door down, but John was in front of me in seconds.
"Wait," he whispered. "She's asleep. She hasn't been outside of the house before today and the outside really scared her. She needs her sleep. Stay the knight, my king. You can take Aurora in the morning."
I let out a quiet growl, not liking that he doesn't want me to be with her now and that she was scared by the outside earlier today.
"I won't wake her up, but I will be taking her now. So, John, if you wouldn't mind opening the door," I sneered gesturing to the door. John let out a sigh and took the key off the necklace on his neck and opened the door to Aurora's room. I pushed the door open the second it was unlocked and rushed to the side of her bed. I turned to see that John and Ellie were still there, looking at me. I let out a growl and they immediately left.
I turned back to my beautiful little angel. Her blonde hair was surrounding her head on the pillow like a halo. Her blue eyes were shut. I slowly brought my large hand to her small, slender face. I carefully cupped her cheek with my hand and sparks erupted everywhere. I peeled the covers back and found her in only a sports bra and really short shorts. My wolf and I purred at the sight, but then the thought of another man seeing her like this while I transported her made us growl. I quickly took off my shirt and put it on Aurora. The shirt reached to her knees and swallowed her figure whole. I love how small she is. I went to her closet and came back with a pair of super warm fuzzy socks for her in case she gets cold in the brief moment we will be outside. I put the socks on her feet and swiftly lifted her tiny form up into my arms. I immediately walked out of her bedroom with her and walked back to the living room towards the door. Tanner was instantly in front of me and ripped Aurora from my arms. I let out the deadliest growl deadliest growl I've ever done in response. My little angel wasn't in my arms. My wolf wanted to kill him for taking her from us.
I heard a whimper come from Aurora and I turn to see her nose scrunched up and trying to wake up. I grabbed Aurora back and cooed to her, to make sure she stays asleep. She continued to wiggle around, but then she stopped, and nuzzled her head into m chest. I let out a small smile. I then let it drop as I looked down at Tanner and shot daggers at him.
"How dare you take my mate away from me!" I shouted in a reasonable volume to keep Aurora asleep. "I swear if you wake her up I would have your head!" Tanner noticeably backed up a little but growled at me.
"You can't take my sister," he seethed.
"I'm the Alpha King. I can do whatever I want. And if you get in my way, I could easily kill you." With that, I stormed out of the house with my little angel in my arms.
My beta had the cars here and ready, thank goddess. I would have been pissed if I had to walk all the way back to the Royal Pack, in the freezing cold, risking Aurora's health. The poor think is only human and she can get sick in the cold.
I got in the back seat of the limo and set Aurora on my lap, allowing her to find a comfortable position to sleep in. As long as her head was on my chest, she could sleep in that position.
My beta, my unmated beta, then slid into the back seat along with me.
I immediately wrapped my arms around my little angel, pulling her to my side away from my beta, Triston, so he wouldn't be able to see her, and growled at him.
"I'm not going to do anything to her. She's my Luna Queen," he said.
"I don't f*cking care. Get out of the damn car, now," I sneered. Triston, rolled his eyes, but got out of the car anyway. The second the door was closed I put Aurora back on my lap. She let out a small whimper.
"Awe, little one, what's wrong? I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry. So, so sorry," I cooed to her, wanting to calm her down and let her sleep. She stopped moving and curled into me. I let out a smile and continued to watch my little angel for the rest of the car ride.
