Narrator POV
After the war and the battle of Hogwarts the damage to the castle is fixed over the holiday period allowing the school to be re-opened for the next term of the new year. Letters are delivered by owl to 7th year students all over the country. These letters state that due to a minimal amount of education the previous year Students are offered to continue another year of education. These students would be regarded as 8th years and while the extra year of education is not necessary it is highly suggested by the professors.
Harry, Ron and Hermione were together at the burrow when the letters were delivered. Harry and Ron had highlighted the fact that an extra year of schooling was not mandatory (several times) however this had done little to persuade Hermione and Mrs Weasley and it had been settled that they were going back much to their disappointment.
