"You're finally ready" My uncle smiles
" The next and final step of becoming a Demon Slayer is completing the Final Selection "
Few Days After
Today, I'm going to the final selection. After all my training, hopefully, I can pass. I gather all my items and Uncle Shioto brings me a sword.
" I'm proud of you, Y/N. Remember that we love you." My aunt says, along with Uncle Shioto nodding.
As I start walking to the Final Selection, I think to myself, " Will Tanjiro be there?" I quickly discard that thought as I have to focus on passing the Final Selection.
I walk into this place with beautiful Wisteria trees everywhere. "Wait I thought it's out of season, I think to myself. Suddenly two girls spoke up.
"Welcome. Today you will be completing the final Selection. There are demons that demon slayers have caught for this occasion. They will not be able to get out as the wisteria trees cover the whole mountain yearly. Survive 7 days and you will complete your training." The two girls spoke in unison
"Survive 7 days. I can do this."
I run throughout the mountain paths, just to meet a demon.
" Finally! Human meat!" The demon says as he licks his lips.
He starts running full speed towards me.
" blistering Blossoms"
I say under my breath as I draw my sword to slice his head off. I walk throughout the forest being very cautious. I see a boy with some mask on few meters away walking down the path.
"Somethings not right."
I run full speed behind the boy, cutting the demons head off who was about to eat him.
" Hey, you should've been more cautious-" I stare at the boy with the mask. He stares at me with a puzzled look. His hair, his eyes, nothing changed. He got a lot stronger for sure.
"Tanjiro?!"
" Y/N? It's been a while!" he exclaims with a smile.
"He hasn't changed one bit"
I smile, somethings off.
" Y/N! Behind you!" Tanjiro yells
He sprints behind quickly, right as I turn my head Tanjiro already slice the demon's head off.
" Oh wow, thanks. I guessed we both saved each other." I say as I chuckle.
Tanjiro chuckles along too, right as we start running down the pathway. I feel thumping on the ground.
Ever since I was young I could always detect things by feeling. That's probably why I'm so sensitive. When I used to help my Grandmother in the garden, It was always so quiet so I always heard the slightest of sounds. My Grandmother would always walk around the garden checking all her plants and I could always feel where she was.
As Tanjiro sniffs, we both cover our mouth in disgust. An awful, disgusting stench filled the air.
A boy yells " W-what the heck! I didn't sing up for this!"
The boy frantically runs away as this mutant demon slowly follows him. Tanjiro and I stare at the mutant demon as he swallows a boy whole. In shock, we both froze. The mutant demon's multiple arms grew rapidly to reach the boy. In fear, I couldn't move. Tanjiro jumps into the air, and slices the demons arm off, releasing the boy.
" Y/N! Help me out!"
I suddenly shake my head and jump out right next to Tanjiro.
" Well look at that, it's another one of those sweet foxes, along with friend eh? Say fox cub, the year, are we still in Meiji?" The demon snarls
" I-its the Taisho period," Tanjiro responds.
" Taisho?!" The demon yells out angrily. I start shaking in fear. The demon continues so yell and shout about how the era has changed. Tanjiro, the boy, and I stare at the demon frightened as he continues to rage.
" UNFORGIVABLE! UNFORGIVABLE! DAMN YOU UROKODAKI!" The demon yells out enraged
Tanjiro asks if the demon knew Urokodaki. The demon responds irritated,
" Of course I do! He's the person who captured me and brought me here! But that was 47 years ago, back when he was still hunting demons like me. During the Edo period, during the Keio period."
" No way," Tanjiro says in shock.
The boy protests about how the mutant demon should be alive. All demons die after final selection. The demon starts counting how many students he's eaten from Urokodaki. The demon again giggles and taunts Tanjiro about the students he's eaten.
Tanjiro becomes enraged about the demons doings and charges straight into him. I run right behind Tanjiro cutting the arms that are growing for the demon. As the demon gets distracted by Tanjiro, I run at full speed and jump.
" Quince Slash!"
But as I hit the mutant, my sword gets caught in his neck. " I-its too thick!" the demon smiles at me and slaps me to the ground. My vision becomes blurry, slowly fading into black.
