As a freak, life was hard. My parents hadn't known about my ability to disappear, and I didn't think they ever would. Then one night, they were concerned. I wasn't doing well in school, and the teachers were reporting me missing in class. I went to bed, not knowing that they were watching me. When I disappear, I just do it whenever I want to. Except when I sleep. When I fall asleep, I turn invisible. Thats when my parents saw me. As I thought they would laugh and hug me, they grabbed their golf clubs, loaded their guns. They cornered me. Then I remembered my powers. Quickly, I disappeared. I still live in the attic, but nobody notices me. As for my parents, they wait for me to come back. My only sister, Sierra, doesn't care. She's an eight year-old brat. Because while I gave up my family, she told them. My parents knew because of her. But Sierra was a mutant too, and my parents didn't know. Sierra could plant any flower, grow any tree, and have it full grown in five seconds. Sierra kept her days indoors, afraid that she'd be seen doing her powers, but she was. Our mom walked up to her and said, "What lovely powers our child has. Harold, Sierra has a gift!" Just like that. I had great powers too. I could go shoplifting for them, or something. But nobody cared for me. Life is like a maze. If you get trapped, just turn around and find the right path. As a mutant, I had a shortcut. Life is a maze, and I'm walking straight through the middle.
