Amidst the smoke

Yes, this is an Author's Note. But you have to listen to stop signs and, look at that, there's one right there.

First of all, I live in Australia. Now, I don't know if you've glanced at the news in the last few months but in case you didn't know, the entire country is on fire. I'm fine though, for now at least. But I live in Canberra and the fire's are kind of surrounding that area, so what we have is smoke. The air quality is like eighteen times the hazardous rate, if I stand on one end of my house I can only just make out the other end through the haze of smoke. But this morning I woke up and looked outside to see that everything was yellow, and I said 'It looks like a zombie apocalypse.' Now because of the smoke I'm housebound, no going outside. At first that seems like a gift from God, especially to an introvert such as myself. I'm being forced to stay inside and read, write, draw, watch television and whatever else I do. But it gets pretty old pretty fast. Anyway so I was bored out of my mind, lying upside down on my bed trying to think of things to do. So I started brainstorming plot ideas, I came back to the apocalypse thing and pretty much predicted the world's end. So this is it.

Now, I'm not saying I'm bad at writing, actually it's probably the one thing I'm actually pretty good at, but I'm not amazing. Everyone has bad days and when I try and write on those days the product isn't great but we're just gonna go with it.

Please give this story a chance, I know some Wattpad writers skip right to the climax, I'm not saying their lazy, I'm just saying that they prefer a quick story and they like reaching the super interesting part right away. That's not what I do. I have interesting plots, but I don't like rushing stories. So you might be used to a fast moving book and then you'll read this and think that it's the most boring thing in the world. It's not, you just need to be a little more patient with this book that the other books you've read.

Chapters will be at least a thousand words long but depending on what happens in them and how long it's been since I last updated, they could be longer.

Because I'm already writing two books on this account I'll be slow on updates but I'll probably do at least once a week. Also I'm only updating this when I've written two or three chapters. So the fires hopefully will be out by then, but either way please research, find out what's going on and help if you can because people have lost businesses, homes, pets, friends, family and lives.

If I say something that sounds weird to you my excuse is that I'm British, and if that doesn't make sense then my other excuse is that I'm surrounded by Australians, and if that doesn't work then my final excuse is that I'm tired, because when am I not. But if you read something and to you it doesn't make sense just comment or message and ask and I'll answer.
