Bakugou was scanning the list of the hero agencies that offered him the internship. Almost all of the names were crossed out, except for two: Genius Office and the Nighteye Agency. Best Jeanist was the number four hero for years now and the spiky-blonde haired boy was considering to accept the hero's offer. Though he can't help himself but be curious of the Nighteye Agency led by Sir Nighteye, All Might's former sidekick. He knew that the invitation from the said agency might be connected of his non-existence relationship with the Symbol of Peace. If there will be someone who knew about All Might's quirk, it will be his former loyal sidekick for years.
'It's either he wanted to convince me to accept the quirk or to see if I even deserve All Might's attention. Tch.' Bakugou thought to himself. He remembered Izuku's notes about Best Jeanist and finally decided to go to his agency. 'I should visit Deku before I leave. But first, supermarket to buy ingredients for katsudon and maybe ask the old hag to bake a strawberry cake for auntie Inko.'
He finally filled up the paper leaving the 'Hero's Name' blank.
Shinsou cannot believe it. Aizawa-sensei, aka Ereaserhead, homeroom teacher of class 1-A, was offering him a chance to intern with him. "I will personally train you during this period but it doesn't mean that you'll be transferred immediately to the hero class. You still need to pass another entrance exam but you will be able to join them on some of their combat/rescue training, depending on my evaluation to you during this internship." Aizawa stated.
Shinsou nodded his head, too stunned to talk. A chance to take one step forward to his dream. "You need to sign this and give it back to me tomorrow. Also, don't forget the guardian consent."
"Why?"
Aizawa raised his brow. "You're a minor, obviously."
Shinsou shook his head. "What I mean is that, why me? Not that I am not grateful for this opportunity but I thought I need to win the Sports Festival, at least that's what it says on the school manual."
The hero paused for a moment before he answered, "Just submit that to me tomorrow or forget about the internship." Then, he walked away to go back to the faculty room.
Shinsou clenched his fist. A determination lightened up on his eyes. 'I won't let you down, Aizawa-sensei.'
At the day of the internship, Shinsou was trembling with excitement. He arrived to the address Aizawa gave him.
"This doesn't look like an agency, nor a house." He whispered to himself, staring at the small old looking warehouse. The place was surrounded by trees and a single road leading to the mountain.
"This is where you're going to train." Shinsou turned around to see Aizawa walking towards him. He bowed immediately as a greeting to the hero. "Please, I will be in your care."
Aizawa nodded. "The door is unlocked. Put your stuff inside and warmed up for half an hour. Do it properly if you don't want to have a broken bone. I'll meet you at the back when you're ready. Don't make me wait." Shinsou nodded and ran inside the warehouse not wanting to get injure on the first day.
Meanwhile, Izuku was sleeping on Aizawa's shoulder with his head resting at the hero's head. Aizawa didn't bother to wake up the ghost kid but he can't help himself to worry. Since the nightmare Aizawa had, Izuku become a sleepyhead and will only wake up for a couple of hours to play before going back to sleep again. But there's nothing Aizawa can do for now. He just hoped nothing bad will happen, either to Izuku or in general, he's not sure.
Nedzu was lost on his thoughts. It's been two days since he visited the Hero Killer in the Tartarus, a special prison for villain criminals. Truthfully, Nedzu was not expecting Stain to cooperate and answer his questions without playing mind games, but he did. The only reason for Nedzu to interview the villain was because of his condition when he was captured. Unconscious and there's a sign of heart attack but his body was healthy as it could be. Also, the black mark on his chest. It was similar to the ring mark found on the villains who attacked the USJ. The only differences were Stain's mark was a triangle and the fact that those villains died while Stain survived.
Investigators and polices are still trying to find if there's a recorded person that has a quirk that might be the cause of the villains' death. A possible suspect. But Aizawa, Nedzu and Tsukauchi knew better. That the culprit was a small spirit who supposed to be on his teen.
"He's with someone." Stain said.
Nedzu blinked, not expecting the statement. "I beg your pardon?"
Stain looked at him in the eyes with no trace of emotion. "Before I collapsed, I saw it. Someone with black cloak standing behind the kid. I can't see its face, nor any part of its body. But I can feel its eyes on me." He paused. "The kid caused the pain with his glowing eyes, but that black cloak person terrified me more than my own death."
The atmosphere was filled with silence. The hero killer lowered his head to hide his face once again.
"Why you didn't say anything during your interrogation?" Nedzu asked. Stain barked a hollow laugh.
"We both know that it will be useless." He smirked. "People will only think that quirks were used on me. But I know, that whatever they are, those two are not humans. They are beyond me, beyond us."
'Another piece of the puzzle. But it only added to the mystery of the picture.' Nedzu thought. He looked at the book on his desk. It was an old book that he found in the storage room of city library. The librarian was kind enough to give the book to him when he tried to check out.
"My quirk is called booksense. I can feel the emotion of a book will portray once I touched it. If it's content will make me cry, laugh, mad, bored or excite. But this book only whisper 'forbidden' on me. Just looking at it made me shiver. That's why, if you need it, please have it." The old man begged him.
Nedzu hold the book and read the title once again, "The Reaper's Gift".
