Do you know what I hate the most? Besides myself? loud gum chewers, don't you just hate the loud smacking noise they make every two seconds just to let the whole world know they're chewing gum? Because I sure as hell do and I came to this realisation after sitting in a small space with such an obnoxious chewer for more than 4 hours and all I can say is , kill me now.

Miraes eyes rolled hearing yet another chorus of gum smacking, grabbing at her headphones from her bag she plugged her phone in and turned the sound all the way up, hoping to drown the noise out but even with the music on full blast the women sitting in front of her even looked loud.

Mirae groaned grabbing at her hoodie and yanking it over her face trying to mildly suffocate herself, hoping it would help her at least pass out.

The back of her hoodie was yanked off and she looked to the culprit glaring her father who had walked past her and yanked her hoodie off giving her a stern look making her eyes softened.

"Mirae, stop it" Mirae nodded solemnly at her fathers request, he raised an eyebrow and Mirae sighed and averted her eyes the other way looking outside of the window.

"How long until we land dear?" The loud gum chewer known as Mirae's fathers fiancé and future step mother had asked playing with her manicured nails.

"Less than half an hour love" Miraes father smiled sweetly and Mirae felt her stomach turn, gross.

"Ok darling" she smiled making Mirae roll her eyes and continue looking the other way creating a small strain in her neck only one thing on her mind.

Fucking loud gum chewers.

...

Mirae followed her father off the private jet plane and before she knew it she was watching a chauffeur stuff her bags into the trunk of a cab and her father doing the same to her.

Mirae moves across the seat making room for her father who had slid in beside her, his fiancé winning 'shotgun', Miraes father stared down at his daughter who only looked out the window completely unbothered.

"I'm sorry Mimi" he whispered only for her to hear and Mirae squeezed her eyes shut trying to not cry right there in her spot, she shook it off and shrugged still staring out the window.

The car ride was long and the trio was only half way to their destination when someone had broken the silence.

"I heard this school will be able to help you with your little problem Mirae" The fiancé said from the front seat breaking the silence, she glanced through the rear view mirror staring at the two.

Mirae watched a single raindrop fall onto the window and her eyes followed it all the way down until it was out of her sight and her gaze moved towards her hands, brushing her fingertips against each other Mirae tensed.

As much as she wants to believe that the reason behind her being shipped off to a boarding school across the country was that witch's fault she couldn't, it wasn't her idea, it was her fathers, he believed that maybe this statement was true, maybe they could help Mirae with her 'problem' but Mirae couldn't help but despise him more than anyone else at the moment, she was doing perfectly fine, she hid it and nothing was going wrong until that one night where she just couldn't control it.

Mirae sighed once more before she found herself drifting off, maybe a little sleep will cure her growing headache.

...

The sound of doors being slammed closed made Mirae jolt awake, she was no longer leaning against the window but her head was being supported on a shoulder, looking to the owner of the shoulder she retracted her head silently scoffing.
