CHAPTER II
Haylee was at my house by five with a bag of clothes. Her mom wanted her out of the house so she rushed out early and came here to get ready. She pulled out a pair of white skinny jeans and a bright purple tank top.
"I didn't have much time to grab stuff and go. I was realizing that white might be a bad idea, in case something spills. And knowing me, it will." I smiled as I opened up my closet. It displayed half of the mall. We were the same size so I told her she could borrow my clothes. She had done the same for me. I grabbed my clothes and headed into the bathroom. I slid a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a blue cami on. I grabbed my knitted Uggs from my closet and slipped them on. I was labeled rich while wearing them. Though my dad did own 'Happy Pappy's'. It was a business he and his father started about twenty years ago, and it's pretty successful.
Over my blue cami I slid on a grey see thru cropped-tee. I went into my room and saw Haylee wearing my black pencil skirt and my floral top.
"Looking cute, Hay." I smiled at her as she slid on a pair of pink flats.
"Thanks love, you too!" We giggled at my fake British accent. I was in relief that my mom was going to talk to one of Austin's teachers tonight. I told her that me and Haylee were going to see a movie that opens at one A.M., just so we don't look late.
We did our makeup a little heavy, but not overboard. We both left out hair how it was. Paul came a few minutes early.
" He....y...." He said. Looking me up. "Don't you look... Fine?" I smiled.
"I'm not new at this. I've been to tons of parties!" I laughed as he hugged me, sweeping me off the ground. It was more of a friendly move. I punched his shoulder. "Put me down!" He slowly lowered me as he chuckled. Haylee stood back and watch.
"Come on let's go lovebirds. Josh is meeting us there." Ah, I forgot. Wait.. What?
"We're not.. Lovebirds!" I told her, quite unsure. She looked down on me. We wrapped our arms around each other and skipped out of the house, behind Paul. I got into the passenger seat and Hay got in the back. He turned the music up until it pounded in my ears. He placed his hand on top of mine and caressed it with his thumb. He entwined him fingers in mine as we sang along. I looked back at Hay who was enjoying herself and singing along. We approached a house that was literally glowing. It wasn't a house, it was more like a mansion, maybe even a hotel. I could see a fire glowing from behind. Just a bunch of reckless teenagers.
Paul caressed my hand once more letting me know he had to step out. As soon as he got out, Jack came over and pulled him away. He turned around and winked at me before disappearing. The butterflies in my stomach were intense, the same before every party.
"Alright, are you ready to go?" I nodded. "Josh said he is in the back." My thirst for alcohol could've burned a hole in my stomach. I stuck by Haylee's side though. We began walking to the woods as guys were on me left and right. I sneered at them, wishing I had Paul around to push them away. I could smell the alcohol on them, breathing all over me. Kylie saw me and ran over.
"Hey!" She smiled and hooked onto my arm.
"Hey this is my best friend, Haylee". I told her. She waved.
"Have you seen Josh anywhere?" Haylee asked Kylie.
"Uh, yeah. He just went upstairs with some freshman." I could read the look on Haylee's face. Great. I tuned back around, not worried about Josh anymore. Haylee kept going. Kylie and I went out side to the bonfire. I looked around for Paul. My face went pale when I saw him. I froze, letting people run into me, cursing and shoving me. How could I be so fooled. I watched Paul put his arm around some blonde girl. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. Kylie immediately soared her eyes over to me.
