CHAPTER VIII (CAUTION: mature content)
I think I passed out, but to be honest I have no idea. I was still lying on my bed with the door locked. It was oddly silent. I opened my door and peeked outside. I didn't see anyone so I continued to proceed to the family room. Everything was shut off and closed. I looked around again, making sure my eyes were working right. I walked over to the table where a note was sitting, addressed to me.
'Aubree,
Your father and I went to talk to your therapist. Your brother went to his friends for a while. If you need anything Mrs. Brewer is next door if you need anything.
love,
Mom.'
I crumpled the note in my hand. So it wasn't a dream. I tossed the note into the trash, then walked over to the phone that had started ringing.
"Hello." I said.
"Hey, Aubree." I heard Austins voice and loud music in the background. "I'm at Lennon's party. Wanna come?"
"Uh, can I get a ride?" I asked. A party sounded good, I can let loose for once.
"Yeah, Jack said he knows you?" I nodded... who nods through the phone? "He said he will be over."
"Okay thanks." I said, pressing the end button and tossing the phone on the table.
I ran upstairs and into the bathroom. I brushed out my hair and once again flat ironed it. It was so thin that when i turned my head it flung out. Then I curved the ends in towards my face. I coated my eyes with masacara, eyeliner and purple eyeshadow.
I ran into my room and slid on a pair of Under Armour sweatpants and folded them down at the waist. I put on my matching white and black skinny tee. I went back to the bathroom and brushed my teeth for about five minutes and then used mouthwash. I sprayed myself with perfume and put on deodrant. I slipped out into the family room, where Jack was waiting outside.
"All ready?" He asked, looking me up then back down. "Come on, that's the best you could do?" I nodded.
"This wasn't planned. My 'rents are busy talking to my therapist." He smiled.
"You're kidding, right?" I laughed at his question.
"No. Apparently I have problems." I said as I stepped out and followed him to his car. I jumped into the passanger seat. We rode in silence all the way to the party at Lennon's.
Like Jacks, Lennon's house was large, and the front side was covered in fancy stone. I could see a chandelier hanging from a window in the front of the house. I felt protected being with Jack. People knew not to mess with the quarterback of our football team.
Here's how the rivalry works. My school- Crest, and the school Lakewood High are football rivals. Its funny because they both go to the same parties and hang together but some people can't stand eachother. Such as Kyle Marrow and Jack. They both don't get along. Every year, Crest beats Lakewood, but this year, like any other year, they believe they are going to win.
Anyways, I walked up to the house with Jack's arm around my waist. It wasn't the same as Ashton, Jacks was more of a friendly wrap. People gave us the eye, I wanted to scream that we weren't dating. Trust me, I know the looks. He gave them a small smile as we walked through the house and to the backyard. I could see a large bonfire lit in the distance. A little ways past the large pond, which was being occupied by a ton of people.
"Do you have a bathing suit?" Jack asked. I shook my head.
"Does it look like it? I wasn't told to bring one." He grabbed my hand and dragged me back to the house. "Where are we going?" I asked him. He looked back.
