I remember that day so vividly like it's on the back of my hand, and yet I fail to tell people the truth of all that happened. And since I am the only person that knows the reality of that stormy night and the entire burden that falls upon it, I wish to keep it that way. But just as the saying goes ' a secret is no longer a secret when two people know '. I had no idea that Blake De Luca was outside my dorm that night and in the same way, I did not know that my secret was not a secret anymore.
It all started when Oliver Black knocked on room 17C. "Vic, are you ready?" He asked from outside the room.
" Yeah, just one second" I replied in a hurry. Since I was not looking at where I was walking I accidentally knocked a glass onto the hard wooden floor, for it to be shattered.
"Victoria! Are you hurt, what's going on in there?" Oliver cried whilst trying to twist the doorknob.
" I'm okay; I just knocked a glass over. It's all okay you can stop twisting the knob now" I replied.
We were going to our 4th-anniversary dinner that night, I remember that Oli was so happy because of the months leading up to it he was always saying "it's going to be a night to remember, I promise you".
Me being the oblivious person I am thought that it will be like no other and boy was I right.I remember before I met Oliver I was so caught up in what people thought of me. I used to think why am I not pretty enough. But then I was also wondered why we have role models, who we look up to, become a constant reminder of who we need to be, what we need to look like. Why do we categorise people in this world that have the ' perfect ' body when the ideal type changes 24/7. I was so insecure and confused but Oliver Black changed that, for not long after he was the one that broke me.
Nobody knows about the demons I have to face every day of my life, and I hope to keep it that way. These secrets define me as a person. They sculpt me into the woman I am today, and without them, I would be living a boring life. And as they say ' boring is not fun '.
Blake was always known as the 'Bad Boy' of our school. Always a player: Interesting but dangerous. He's gotten into a lot of fights, broken many rules; and yet I have a feeling that it's all just a persona to hide the pain that inflicts him inside. As I've said before everyone holds secrets, even the devil has his own.
Third-person
Nothing was worse than the weight De Luca was holding upon his shoulders, it had become a deadly reminder of the binding that would forever shadow onto his wrists and the unnecessary power he holds. The man had lost all that he had gained at it was ripped from him on the night he had forever held dear. The sympathy and pitty was something he was never asking for nor he ever chased it, a chance to be heard, to decide what he wanted was all Blake desired, but sometimes fate is an unjust game as it gives out its roles with no second thought. he had no choice.
Two of the similarities between Blake and Victoria were the consistent neglect and abuse they got from our family, the people who were meant to protect them. Even though it was similar, it was not technically the same. She was always compared to her siblings no matter how hard She tried; she was called a disappointment which when repeated enough times made her feel worthless. However, Blake, Blake had suffered much worse. He witnessed his mother die at the age of 12 at the hands of his father, he watched her helplessly cry out into the silent depths of the night for help when it was useless and all he could do was sit and watch, struggling with the restraints tying him up against the chair. He felt helpless, a feeling that was so unknown to a boy like him it made him numb. But that was only the start of it all for Blake De Luca, his father remarried to a kind woman who only showed her true self once the curtain drew. The scars across his back tell a story, a story of how once a boy full of joy, happiness, and glee turned into a broken man who could never be fixed no matter how hard a person tried, he was broken beyond repair.
