"I'm going to miss you so much!" Ally yelled hugging her half to death. Alaina cried softly as she hugged her best friend back. And then her other friends, Maria, Chloe, and Darlene. "I'm going to miss you guys just as much. Believe me, I don't have a choice in this matter. You guys know my parents just got divorced. I want to stay but I can't." She waved at them. "I'll call you!!" Alaina called out shutting the car door. Her mother drove off.
Two days later, "Alaina? Baby, we're here." Her mother woke her gently. She opened her eyes and looked around seeing a beach and a boardwalk. Alaina smiled until she the sign that read, "Murder Capital of the World". She sighed and turned back around. As night fell, she grabbed things out of the car and took them inside. "Hey mom? Can I have some money for the boardwalk?" Alaina asked her. "Yes, be home by 1am." She handed Alaina a 20. Alaina slipped her leather jacket on and walked to the boardwalk. The boardwalk was crowded at this time of night.
She walked around eating a burger and fries. She walked into the video store and was greeted by Max. "Max! Hey! I haven't seen you since I last visited." She smiled at him. "Are you back for another visit?" He smiled placing movies on shelves. "Sadly, no, mom and dad got divorced and we moved here. We live with grandpa now." She sighed sitting on his counter as four boys walked in. Max growled. "Max? Do you have Scarface in yet?" Alaina asked not paying attention to the boys that just walked in. She reached for the top shelf and wobbled. "Uh oh!" She lost her balance and fell into the arms of a dark haired boy. "Uh, thanks?!" She grinned as he helped her up. "Can you get me Scarface? I'm too short." Alaina asked him. He smiled. "Sure, are you new here?" He asked handing her the movie. "Yes, my parents got divorced and we moved here. My dad cheated on her and so we left. I'm Alaina." She smiled as three boys came up. "Who's this, Dwayne?" David asked. "This is Alaina." Dwayne smiled. Paul checked her out. "You dog rock n roll?" He asked raising a brow. "Yeah, why?" She smiled. He grinned. "Do you smoke?" He asked another question. "Weed, cigarettes, I also drink." She grinned. "Do you wanna hang out with us tonight?" David asked after they introduced themselves. "Sure, why not?" She grinned.
