It was Wednesday morning. San woke with a sigh and lay still, staring at the ceiling for a moment before turning to his bedside table. He grabbed his phone and sent a quick "good morning" message to Wooyoung. The time at the top of his phone screen read 9:37 AM. Better get up, he thought to himself, before sitting up and making his way out of his bed.
He spent most of the morning cleaning his apartment before taking a shower at 11. Wooyoung had texted him to let him know that he would pick San up on his way to the ice skating rink. San finished showering and stood in front of his wardrobe. He pulled out some warmer clothes as he knew it would be cold at the ice rink and dressed quickly.
When he was finished he sat at the kitchen table and scrolled through his Instagram feed. After a while, he heard a sharp knock at his door. He stood and opened the door to see a smiling Wooyoung.
"Hi" He said.
"San smiled back, "Hi." Wooyoung pulled him into a hug.
"I've missed you."
San laughed, "We talked this morning."
"No, But I haven't seen you in ages."
"Its literally been like four days you drama queen."
"Oh Shush," Wooyoung said as he pulled San into a kiss. After a moment Wooyoung pulled away, "As much as I'd love to stay here and do that all day, we do have to get going. I've got a group of idiots who are set on meeting you."
"Right. Yes." San paused, "Oh, I'll just grab my coat and then we can get going. Come in, I'll just be a second."
Wooyoung stood in the doorway and stepped carefully inside as San raced away to fetch his coat. He looked around and spied a framed photograph of a small yellow bird. San reappeared with a large puffy coat. His eyes shining and excited.
"Ready to go?" Wooyoung said through a smile. San nodded and the pair made their way towards Wooyoung's car. San took the passenger's seat and gazed out the window as they drove.
"I'm glad we're going ice skating, I love it," San said softly.
Wooyoung grimaced, it was now or never, "Ok, so, here's the thing. I um, I can't actually ice skate."
"You what? Oh my gosh, you should have said. I should have asked. We could have done something else. I'm so dumb." San smacked his forehead
"Hey, No you're not. I was actually hoping you'd help me..." Wooyoung said as he reached out and took San's hand. "You just seemed, I don't know... Really excited about ice skating, and I didn't want to let you down."
"You're so fucking sweet, what the hell. Of course, I'll help you."
They sat in comfortable silence as they pulled into the ice skating rink. San gently playing with Wooyoung's hand as he parked the car. He was excited but also nervous about meeting Wooyoung's friends. He also hoped that Wooyoung would get along with his friends and that they could all start to spend time together.
