~ AIDEN
Less than one hour until we'd be leaving for Michigan. It's been a hell of a time in Minnesota, but my parents think it's time for a change. Plus, my dad got promoted which caused us to have to pack our bags and leave to a new state.

Roman and I aren't particularly excited, however, we both need a fresh start. Our school back home wasn't the best and by the time I reached Junior year, our parents were already thinking about moving. There's no time better than now to get going.
"Aiden, I think you just have one box left from your room. Can you run up and grab that and shove it in between those two?" My mom asks, pointing at the gap between two boxes in the back of the moving truck.
I nod and put my phone down before running upstairs to my room. I pick up the box with one arm because it was so light, probably only holding some blankets and pillows.
"Both of you have about 20 minutes to go visit your friends you want to say goodbye to. Roman, Aiden, meet us back here at 10:45. On the dot." Dad says, leaving us to go to our friends' houses and say goodbye before we left for our almost twelve hour drive.
My best friend, Gabriella, only lives about two minutes away from us. It was easy to get to her house and back, which made it easier for us to spend more time together. By the time I get there, the doors already open and Gabriella has her arms wide open for me to jump in her arms and give her the biggest hug I think I've ever given anyone.

"... and make sure to let me know if any cute guys break your heart babes. I will WALK my ass to Michigan to beat some white boys ass. I promise you that."
"Thank you, Gabs. I'm gonna miss you more than ever. I love you so much." I give her one last hug before I have to go, recieving an "I love you too babygirl. Until next time."
I walk off her front steps and onto her driveway before heading home, meeting up with Roman halfway, whose friend, Alejandro, lived only a few houses down from Gabriella.
Roman and I are home right when our parents expected us to be. My dad hands Roman the keys to my moms car, telling him to follow him on the road and to have me text them if we need to stop at anytime.
Roman and I get in the car and before we know it, we're on our way to Michigan.

"You two go to bed. It's too late to do anything right now. Be ready to wake up early in the morning. We have to meet our new neighbors and bring the rest of our boxes inside." Our mom says, pulling us both into a hug and standing on her tiptoes to give us both kisses on our foreheads. Roman groans and I turn to look at him before I begin to giggle, running upstairs to the room painted a light shade of pink, just how I had asked for it to be.
I wake up to Roman opening my blinds and telling me it's time to wake up and help move boxes. I roll over and grab my phone to see a text from Gabriella, telling me to have a good first day in Michigan and to let her know everything that happens.
"Grab whatever you can carry. Everything's labeled in sharpie. Put it in the room it belongs in." My mom says, handing me a box as she finishes her words. I walk inside and bring it into the living room.
We continue walking back and forth, outside and inside, bringing boxes inside. As I'm walking out to grab another box I see Roman conversing with two guys who look to be around my age.
"Oh, this is my sister. Aiden, come say hi!" Roman says, pulling me over and introducing me to these two guys who I had discovered were Alex and Cole.
"Wait, isn't Aiden a boys name?" Alex says, looking at me as he says it.
"Do I look like a boy?"
"No."
"Then no, it is not a boys name. It's my name and I'm a girl." I say, glaring at the new boy I had just met. I laugh before continuing to talk, letting him know that I was just kidding.
"Oh, well some of our friends are coming over later. You guys should stop by and meet them!"
Roman and I look at eachother before nodding and agreeing to come over in a few hours.
