Later that same morning, Mami happily walked to school. She loved sunny mornings like this one, they made her cheerful. Mami was what you could call a "loner". She had friends, but no close friends.

Mami arrived in her classroom, and took a seat at one of the futuristic desks. She quietly began unpacking her supplies- A yellow flower-printed notebook with a matching pen, a plain white pencil, and a dirty pink eraser. All around her, Mami heard the soft chattering of the other girls around her. She knew once the boys arrived, it would get much louder.

Mami watched the girls and their strange entertainment. They made weird faces and held their phones out to take photos. They did their makeup. They talked about boys. Mami was glad the girls she is friends with are not like these girls. She didn't like taking photos of herself, she didn't like the sticky mask and flaky powders the girls spread on their faces, and she most certainly was not the least bit interested in boys.

"Riiiing!" The first bell sang, and just as Mami had predicted, the boys came storming into the classroom in a cloud of yelling and body odor. Mami tried to stare straight ahead and ignore the. She hated it when they talked to her, because the conversation almost always led to her large chest. Mami was an industrious girl, and her bust size rather bothered her.

Girls around her swooned and batted their eyelashes at the boys, and a few made that disturbing lip-puckering face. Is this what people find "sexy"? Mami wondered in her head. Luckily, before the boys could talk to her, the second bell rang and the teacher came click-clacking into the classroom. "Boys! Take your seats this instant!" She boomed. Kids scurried to their seats.

Mami let out the breath she realised she was holding in. Finally, we can get on with the day!
