Will I ever see my love again?
The stranded sailor said.
Will she think I left without goodbyes,
or think that I am dead? Will she mourn for me,
or love anew with a better sort of man?
Will she know how much I worshipped her,
or think from her I ran?The castaway then shook with tears,
as sadness filled his heart.
The cold, the hunger, all meant naught,
the pain was being apart. He built a raft of coconuts
and launched her out to sea,
for no one could stop Jacky Tar
from going home to she.For weeks he churned upon the waves
at mercy to the storm.
He prayed that he was good enough,
but soon he was forlorn. Will I ever see my love again?
the battered sailor said.
Will she think I left without goodbyes,
or think that I am dead? Then, one bright and sunny day
he saw the distant shore.
He paddled then with all his might
and paddled then some more.He hurried to his lover's home,
uncertain what he'd find.
Poor Jacky Tar prayed from afar,
that Fate, for once, was kind. She opened up the cottage door,
still wearing mourning black,
and saw her Jacky Tar at last,
her true love had come back,
come back,
her true love had come back.
