Chapter 3 - (Ex)planations

"Take us to the beach please." Hye Jin said to the cab driver.

"Who was that? Why were you at her place? What was that flirting for? What happened to you last night? Where did you go after the bar?" Whee-in bombarded Hye Jin with questions while the cab was moving.

"Whee-in can you please calm down! Geez! Don't attack me with so many questions during this early morning." Hye Jin pleaded.

"My head still hurts from last night. Just give me time to breathe please." Hye Jin said leaning her head on the window.

"Fine, I'll stop with the questions but you NEED to answer all of my questions later. No excuses and no commercials." Whee-in said with a stern look.

"Al-a (I know) do me a favor, just wake me up when we reach the beach." Hye Jin said resting her head on Whee-in's shoulder.

"Wake up Hye Jin ssi... we're at your favorite place." Whee-in said shaking her best friend.

Hye Jin and Whee-in got out of the cab and headed to the beach with their arms intertwined.

"Shall we go to your favorite spot?" Whee-in asked smiling at Hye Jin.

Hye Jin nodded. "You know me so well." Hye Jin said.

"Of course! I know you so well to the point that whatever are the answers to my questions must lead to something serious because we wouldn't be going here in the beach if it weren't." Whee-in said stating a fact.

"The last time you took me here was when you and Min Hyuk started dating." Whee-in said when they reached the part of the beach that is a bit private and can isolate you from other people.

Hye Jin frowns at Whee-in's observation. "What I am about to tell you actually has to do with him and I want to start from after I left you on the dance floor." Hye Jin stated.

Hye Jin Ahn takes a deep breath before beginning. "Last night after going back to the bar for some drinks, I tried calling Min Hyuk again because it was still our anniversary after all. It was the first time he picked up my call but something was weird, his background was so loud that I could not understand him properly. I am not even sure if it was because I was already almost wasted or what but from what I can recall, his background music was the same with ours."

Hye Jin Ahn takes another breath.

"Remember yesterday, when I told you about my gut feeling of him cheating just because he smiled at his phone when he received a text from someone?" Hye Jin asked looking at her best friend.

"Yes I do... Hye Jin Ahn I do not like the feeling of this..." Whee-in commented but Hye Jin ignored her and just continued her story.

"Well my gut feeling didn't disappoint me because while I was trying to talk to him on the phone, I was also trying to look for you on the dance floor but my eyes saw something else." Hye Jin said feeling her heart ache again.

"I s-saw M-Min Hyu-uk with ano-nothe-er gi-irl..." Hye Jin finally letting her tears fall out.

[Hye Jin Ahn screams] This is another reason why she loves this spot, she can express her feelings out freely without anyone (she doesn't know) judging her.

"I SAW MIN HYUK WITH ANOTHER GIRL JUNG WHEE-IN. HE WAS CUDDLING WITH SOMEONE IN A CLUB DURING OUR ANNIVERSARY!" Hye Jin said crying her eyes out. Whee-in hugs Hye Jin Ahn.
