TEMI

Bleep.

"Lynx mobile customer service, how may I be of help to you today?"

Inside her workspace, Temi adjusted on her chair and rested her elbows on the free space on her table. The semi large hall was filled with other call representatives in their own workspace boxes, with bleep sounds and voices filling up the space so Temi tried her hardest to tone out most of the noise and focus on her call.

"Yeah hi, um, I have a problem with my gallery, I'm having difficulties saving new pictures," A feminine voice filled her headset.

Temi looked down at her work manual and quickly opened the Gallery defect page which she'd marked with a red sticker.

"I apologise for any inconveniences this may have caused you ma'am," she said almost automatically. "Can I get your name and what Lynx mobile you're using?"

"Sarah Wayne, I'm using the Lynx M-310."

"Okay, Sarah...can I address you as Sarah?" she asked, just to be polite, meanwhile deep inside, she just couldn't wait for the call to end.

But what's the use? She thought. If this call ends, another one's gonna come through immediately

"Sure," the woman answered, an ounce of glee in her tone about being asked this question.

She's a nice one.

Nice callers were rare.

"Sarah, would you prefer if I send you a message containing instructions on how to fix the problem right after this call or should I just guide you verbally through it right now?"

"I think a message would be better," Sarah said.

Temi smiled, relieved.

"Very well. A message will be sent to you as soon as this call ends," she assured, already working it out on her computer. "And also, I'd like you to know that a new Lynx model has just been released, are you aware of this Sarah?"

"Yeah, I think I heard about that."

"Okay, please be informed that this new model, Lynx M-320, promises to be more effective in performance and it comes with a new and unique design that is very convenient and easy to use."

Out of the things she hated about this job, forced and awkward product promo in the middle of calls was at the top of that list.

"Um, okay I'll think about that, thanks."

"No problem Sarah and thank you for calling Lynx mobile customer service."

The line was still on.

She scratched at her nose.

"Sarah, if that will be all, you can kindly hang up now. This call will end only when you hang up," she said.

"Oh, okay."

Bleep.

"Lynx mobile customer service, how may I help you?"

"The new phone sucks!"

Temi sighed.

Here it comes.

She examined her nails. She'd gotten them done yesterday, a simple pink color with black patterns running through them. It was beautiful. She'd acknowledged this about a hundred times now.
