Four years pass by as quickly as if it was a rushing current of water down a small ledge. We settled in the city of Italy, Volterra. Yep, the. And I was told when I asked if I could explore that I may. So here I am, lost. Ah, well at least I'd have some fun for a while...but my cousin said that I would have violin lessons this evening, and I really, really, don't wanna miss that. Then the peasant folk started to act funny, as in they began to sing! And boy, these people sure had high pitched voices. Cringing I pushed away from the crowded streets and began to explore else where. But I ran to fast and ended up running right into a very tall and handsome man, oh Marci! Oh, nah-ah, not now! I looked up and into his hoodie seeing two confused pair of crimson eyes that stared down at me. The sun glinted off of the window glass and reflected on Marcus's face, it glittered like thousands of shards of glass. My eyes widen in horror and I was about to scream, on purpose mind you, when Marcus clasped his hand around my mouth and pulled me into an alley.
"Don't scream, I know I just glittered, kid, but you need to keep this a secret for both our sakes, okay?" He asks his voice like a melody, luckily hormones hadn't set in yet, though I still appreciate the voice mentally. I nodded slightly, but he didn't let go. Instead he looked down into my eyes, curiosity clear in his. I was confused, but I liked the attention, I made sure not to show that though. I'm supposed to be a kid after all. But he kept staring.
"umghisteplemego." Came my muffled voice. He blinked before letting go and sitting down next to me, I really hope he realizes that this little miss is a kid. Placing my hands in between my legs I peered up at him in curiosity.
"Why'd ya do that, mister?" I hummed, tilting my head. He looked back down, his eyes flashing with recognition. Mm, seems like I'm his singer, interesting.
"My name is Marcus, and I'm not much older than you, so you might as well call me by my name." He says, his voice like music.
Really, you don't look a day over one thousand?
" Alrighty, my name is Asher Snow, why'd your skin glow?" I ask as the spirits started to drift in normally, yeah spirits, small tiny creatures that aid in casting spells, apparently I can see all of them and communicate because I asked for every ability that a magician would normally have. His lips twitched and his eyes filled with amusement.
"That is a story for another time, Snowy." He says, I blinked before I smiled a big toothy grin.
"But I'm not, Snowy silly, I'm Asher." I say playfully. He smiled completely this time.
" It's your nickname, don't you like it?" He asks acting like he's hurt, my eyes widen in fear.
" I like it! But why snowy?" I ask when the noise from earlier made my smile falter, dang the crowd is moving here! I sprang to my feet before an idea made me look at Marcus who had his legs crossed and his eyes on me, watching my every move.
"Mi- Marcus, can you help me home, please? I'm lost." I say my eyebrows knitted in worry. Marcus stood up, appearing like a mountain before my tiny self.
"Where do you live?" He asks patting the dust off of his robes. I gave a stupid look.
"Don't know. Near a fountain with a golden statue of a man playing the violin and a lady playing a harp, or was the colour grey?" I mutter looking down feigning confusion which seem to work. Marcus knelt down smiling at me.
"Don't worry, we'll find your home, any other land marks?" Asks Marcus.
" A wooden toy place, a pastry shop and a coffee place with red and black." I say while shifting slightly as I began to feel excitement at getting to explore properly. Marcus nodded and held his arms open for me. Without thinking I leaped into his arms and he stiffened, shit I forgot about my scent!
"Are ya, alright, Marci?" I ask, he tilted his head at me, smirking.
" Marci? Yes, I am. Now let us find your home before your parents give you trouble." Says Marcus walking off.
" My parents won't give me trouble, my cousin takes care of me, and she doesn't pay attention." I say.
"Don't give such information out just like that, it's dangerous." Says Marcus.
" I thought simply speaking to somebody you don't know is dangerous?" I ask smiling. His lips twitched.
" It is,and you shouldn't do it ever again, okay?" Says Marcus. I smile even wider at that, nodding my head vigorously.
