Chapter 1
Venice Lotus
I remember that day perfectly. On the day of my 21st birthday I was sold. Sold to the richest man alive. That day was… interesting.
“And now, we have this beautiful young lady here. She has an odd name but a great personality. Meet the lovely Venice Lotus!” The announcer said very enthusiastically considering what he's really doing.
The curtains rose and I was revealed inside my metal cage. Most of the girls grab their cage's bars and cry. But not me, I just sat there crisscross with my hands by my side. I was blindfolded and couldn't see but I could smell cigar smoke and hear men whispering. My auburn red hair clung to my skin as sweat escaped my pores.
“Remove her blinds.” I heard a dark voice say from the back of the room. I knew the room was small and the stage I sat on was short.
“It would be best for her to remain blind for now.” The announcer suggested.
“I want to see her eyes.” The voice said strongly.
My eyes? All you want is my body so what the hell does it matter about my eyes? I thought to myself. The room went quiet for a moment then I heard someone close sigh.
“Very well,” the cage door behind me opened and I felt the black cloth fall from my eyes and hit my lap. I just stared ahead fiercely. There was a man sitting in the back directly in front of me with everyone seated around him, like he was the king and they were his subjects.
“Oh-ho! She's a fierce one alright!” One fat man shouted.
“More trouble than she's worth!” Another fat man laughed.
“I'll take her.” The man in the middle said. Everyone looked at him like he was insane. He just smiled at me cockily.
I remember staring at that man in the center of the room. I remember being locked in an intense staring contest with him.
A lion. That's what he reminds me of. His slick, pulled back, black hair and sharp features. The way he held himself so confidently. His eyes, his eyes are so green, I feel like I'm staring into the heart of his jungle. His domain. His throne. All these screamed at me as I gazed into his beautiful eyes. Slowly I went from glaring to curiously gazing and wondering what kind of man he is.
That day was the day that changed my life. And that man was the man that changed my whole world.
