"Daddy, what are those pretty lights in the sky?"
" Those are called stars Naomi. You know those stars can make cool or funny shapes."
"Really?"
"Yea. Twelve of them make some animals. See that one is a scorpion, then that one's suppose to be a bull, those stars make two fishes and then there is a funny animal with a goat head and it's feet replaced by a mermaid tail."
"They all just look like dots, I don't see it. My coloring book can make better shapes than stars. "
"Hehe well you will understand when your older. Plus I heard a fairy tale that those animals drive people to their fate."
"Daddy, that's silly, you know I'm a little to old for those baby stories."
"Well then, she must be to old to get piggy back rides."
"No I'm not! I love piggy back rides daddy!"
"Well then I better get my wee little piggy legs all the way home for dinner."
"Haha you're the best daddy!"
10 years later...
This dream always happenes to me in my dreams. It has been so long since the last time I saw my dad. Just one day, he suddenly doesn't come home and remembering the phone call my mom got from his job saying they could not find him anywhere. Seeing my mother breaking down on the floor drowning in her grieving tears. I stared blankly at her and walking slowly to her with my eyes starting to water. Remebering my mom pulling me in, hugging me tightly in her arms grieving together that entire day.
" Naomi! You're gonna miss your flight to Greece!" I hear my mom holler from downstairs.
I shot up from my bed and turn to the left of me to look at the table beside my bed. Rubbing my eyes looking at my alarm clock and see it was 8 o'clock and my flight leaves in one hour! Immediately, I jump off from my bed and rush out the door of my room towards the bathroom. I quickly look at myself in the mirror and see my eyes were red and puffy like I just cried. After that dream I'm not surprised.
"Finally you come down! Was I not smart to tell you to pack your suitcase yesterday?"
"Mom I get it. You know I love my beauty sleep."
" Well all that's gonna change when you live with your grandma in Greece for the summer."
'Ugh don't remind me." I groan at my mom.
" This is gonna be so exciting! You're following your fathers footsteps into becoming a scientist! Your gonna be an astrologer right?"
" An astronomer remind you." I smirk at her.
" Right." Oh my gosh your flight leaves in thirty minutes!", my mom looks at the clock in the living room, grabs her purse and pushes us out of the door. Luckily, we don't live that far from the airport.
We rush through security and once we got to the gate, the lady told us that the flight has been delayed for another hour.
" Are you sure you will be okay?"
"Mom I'll be fine. Grandma will take good care of me."
" I know but, after what happened to your dad..." I see mom starting to get a little chocked up.
