Chapter 1

Phoebe's pov:

Wow, was I scared. Nothing felt real right now. My aunt told me my real parents died the day she found out. I was obviously was heart broken at the time but I had to get over it. I had to be strong because me and my aunt struggled enough how we were. A while has past and I had almost forgot about it when my aunt walked into my room today. She told me my oldest brother was old enough to be my legal guardian and if I wanted to move to Tulsa with my brothers I could. I told her I needed to think about it for a little, I really didn't want to hurt my aunt by being excited to leave, even though I had been waiting for this my whole life. On my 16th birthday I even wished to meet my brothers as I blew out my candles, but now I would live with them! This felt like a dream! I pinched myself to make sure I was awake and ran downstairs to tell her my decision. When I got down I started by asking if she would be OK without me. She said she wanted me to do what would make me happy and if I go I can always call her and visit. I felt bad for just leaving her but we were struggling and she could use any extra money. I told her my final decision and ran back upstairs to pack. My aunt started calling Darry to let him know what I said and to get the address. I was packing for 3 hours before my aunt called and told me to come eat dinner. When I got to the table she told me all the details. The obvious stuff like I would have to go to a new school and I would bring my car she also said I would be getting a job because my brothers don't have the most money either. I was OK with that because over here I work at a local gas station and could probably work at one in Tulsa, I really liked cars. My aunt had also mentioned before that Sodapop doesn't know I exist, which was a lot at first, so me moving with them would be a big surprise for him. After dinner we went out to the store. I had already known Tulsa wasn't the best town but I never knew I would need to carry a switch blade with me. We got a plain black one it was cheap but it would have to do. Darry said we should probably just drive over tomorrow so we loaded up both cars. Not because I have a ton of stuff but just because we were taking two cars anyway so why not split it evenly. We went inside and started watching TV together for the last time. I was going to miss my aunt and Oklahoma City but I could just feel my new life would be so much better. After that my aunt and I went off to bed. I tired everything I could to fall asleep. Working out, drinking hot milk, counting sheep but i just wasn't tired. I was so excited. I wondered what Darry is like, how similar me and Sodapop looked what we would do for fun once I got there. I soon fell to sleep dreaming of all the fun adventures we will have once I got there.

Darry's pov:

I've been pacing for two hours, why am I so nervous? I already called the court and my aunt a week ago and worked out all the details. Did I really invite a stranger to live with us? The only things I knew about her was her name was Phoebe, and she lives with our aunt about an hour and a half away. I remember my dad wanting to name her Pepsi-Cola, my mom decided she should name the girl, man was he a original person. I sure hope she wont mind me calling her that, even though its already sodas nickname.. SHOOT SODA! I really hope Sodapop isn't hurt I haven't told him about this I just never wanted to let him down if we never got a chance for her to live with us or for him to even meet her.

I woke up this next morning and started cleaning immediately. She would be living with three boys as of today so messes were bound to happen but I really wanted to make a good impression.

"Whoa there buddy whys the house so clean? Only the gangs coming over today." Sodapop said from the hallway while walking to the kitchen

"Oh shut your trap and come eat. Some of us like living in a clean house." I replied trying to get him off my tail. He sat at the table and I served him some eggs and jelly. I heard running from behind me and turn to the hallway, its Ponyboy.
