Jamie And Lottie

The return

It had been a week since Lottie had been submitted to the hospital. She was recovering well but the doctors couldn't figure out the cause. Ellie and Jamie new that it was the Hamelin Formula but new that if they told the hospital it would put them in more danger. 

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie had taken everyone back to Rosewood after the hospital visit. They had all gotten back to school just in time for the first official day of school. As Ellie pulled on her uniform she looked over to Lottie's bed, same as when she had last looked at it a week ago. She walked down the corridors of the school to breakfast, each turn she took unlocked a new thought in her mind. 'when will Lottie return? what is Leviathan doing? what truly happened to Lottie?' Ever since the incident Ellie had wondered what had actually happened to Lottie, Jamie had only told her she collapsed but surly that wasn't enough to make the nurse call 999? She had wanted to ask Jamie but she new he wasn't ready to talk about it.

Lottie sat on the edge of her bed, tying her shoe laces together. She had been dismissed from the hospital. Lottie felt light, after a week of having blood pumped through her body to make up for the blood she had lost during her throw up stage, she felt empty. She hadn't wanted to trouble her friends in picking her up as she new school had started so she decided to walk back. It was about a mile away. As she started walking she felt sharp pains in her head, she shook them away as she carried on walking. Her feet were sore, her body was tired. By the time she had reached Rosewood she was gasping for air, ' I need to take it easy' she thought to herself as she held onto her thighs whilst regenerating energy. 

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ellie was walking past the entrance to the lunch hall when she saw a blonde haired curl outside the gates protecting the entrance. The girl was gasping for air unusually loud. "are you ok?" Ellie yelled out to her. As the girl looked up Ellie shrieked, rushing towards the gate "Lottie, Lottie, are you ok? OMG Lottie I missed you so much, do you need your gas mask back... Lottie?" Ellie paused. Lottie had tears rolling down her face and sunk to her knees. Ellie swung open the gate and ran to hug her best friend, her sister from another mister. " Ellie, I'm sorry... I don't know why I'm crying, I just, I missed you so much" Lottie collapsed into Ellie, sobbing into her chest. Ellie patted her back and just sat there with Lottie until she heard the bell ring. "Lottie.. we should go inside" Ellie reached out her hand to Lottie as she stood up, Lottie took it, grateful for help in getting up.

Ellie and Lottie went back to their dorm, Ellie missed her next lesson to be with Lottie. As Lottie opened their dorm she felt the pain in her head again, she rubbed her head and tried to send out the pain. The pain flooded away. Lottie and Ellie lay in Ellie's bed looking up at the ceiling. "Lottie?" Ellie said as she turned to face Lottie. "mmmhmm" Lottie replied, still looking at the ceiling. " how did you get back to Rosewood? ". Lottie replied quietly " I walked."Ellie gasped and sat up " Lottie, you walked?? You should have let me or Jamie know, we would've come to get you! That's why you were so tired!". Lottie looked at Ellie " I didn't want to cause you any trouble". After that they lay in silence until Lottie fell asleep. Ellie quietly climbed out of bed and went to the café. As she entered she saw Jamie running up to her, eyes glowing with anger. "Ellie! where the hell were you at lunch? We were looking for you, and then Saskia said you weren't in any other lessons after that!" Ellie gulped. She looked around, all her friends were around her, relief on all their faces. "Sorry Jamie, I really am sorry, I forgot to come and tell you where I was going... you see Lottie is back!" Ellie looked Jamie in the eyes as she said it. She could see joy in his eyes but he quickly blinked it away. "how did she get back?" Jamie asked. Ellie went to talk but her voice cracked, she coughed clearing her throat "she walked". Jamie was shocked, the girl who had been in hospital for a week, all pale and weak, had returned and walked!?

Lottie woke up to find she was alone. She felt herself start crying as she thought about the past week. 'how could happiness be taken away so quickly?' she asked herself. The door swung open, Ellie. Lottie wiped away her tears and forced a smile at Ellie. "Lottie, you're awake! Everyone's waiting for you" Ellie exclaimed. Lottie nodded. She changed into her uniform and put on her school shoes before exiting the room. Ellie walked by her side. As they reached the café Lottie felt nervous. The nerves she had felt when she had seen Jamie a week ago, she was about to see Jamie!

Jamie was sat with Raphael and Anastacia. They were talking about Lottie. About what she will look like, how ill she will still be, what had happened to her. Jamie had zoned out from the conversation as he thought about Lottie, his heart skipped a beat at the thought of her. He was sat on the sofas with everyone else. He looked up. Lottie. She was in her uniform, her hair down, letting her curls dance around her shoulders. Her eyes were red and puffy but her rosy cheeks had returned.

Lottie entered the café, her eyes scanned the room looking for her friends, looking for Jamie. She saw them on the sofas by the fire, in the middle sat Jamie. She ran towards him, causing all her friends to look up. When she reached Jamie he was smiling at her, she flung herself around him, holding him in the biggest hug she'd ever done. She started crying onto his shoulder. " Jamie?!" Lottie cried as she looked up into his eyes

Jamie felt warmth flood through his body at Lottie's embrace. He returned the hug. He felt her crying. Was she really this happy to see him? Jamie looked up to see Ellie beaming, his friends staring with smiles across their faces. Lottie looked into his eyes "Jamie?!" she questioned. He nodded. " I missed you so much" she exclaimed as she rested her head on his shoulder. "I missed you too" Jamie said as he put his hand on the back of her head.
