Painting - KTH

Taehyung and I sat on the grassy hill, painting. There was soft music playing beside us from his speaker, and paint material scattered all around us.

Taehyung laid on his stomach, painting a chill winter night. He hummed along to the music, smiling. He looked so peaceful and relaxed doing so.

I sat upwards, legs crossed, tongue sticking out of the corner of my mouth, painting two bears. I planned on giving this to Tae, since it was based off his newly released song, Winter Bear.

It was chilly this evening. The wind blew past us swiftly, blowing the colorful leaves with it. nothing was to be heard of but the soft music playing, Taehyung's humming, and the kicking of my legs, coming in contact with the ground.

As the wind blew, my hair kept getting in my face. I used my hand to push it behind my shoulder, but it still kept getting in the way. Taehyung saw this problem, and chuckled.

I turned my head to look at him, and asked, "what's so funny, Tae?", annoyance laced into my tone.

"Nothing. Do you want me to tie your hair up?" He offered.

Not sure if he was joking or not, I raised an eyebrow. Unsure, I answered. "Yes...?"

He smiled warmly, and stood up, dusting off the grass pieces that clung to him, dropping his paint brush onto his palette.

I watched as he went behind me, and kneeled down.

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna hurt you, scaredy cat," he stated, making me laugh breathily.

He and I have been best friends since elementary school. We know most of each other's secrets, and hung out whenever we could. It's probably the reason why we don't have any other friends.

Taehyung took my hair in his hands, combing out the knots, and making a makeshift ponytail.

Of course, he has at least 2 hair ties on his arm, just in case I needed them.

As he finished tying my hair, he went back to his original position on the grass, giving me a thumbs up. I smiled, returning to my painting, and so did he.

It was beginning to get darker, as Taehyung and I finished up our paintings. He finished before me.

He watches as I moved my paintbrush from one end to the other, keeping the picture out of his sight.

"Come on, y/n! When can I see your painting?" He whined. I giggled, putting a finger to his lips to silent him.

"When I'm done, I'll show you. Which should be soon," I stated, taking my hand back.

He sighed, puffing our air, and proceeded to lay down on the grass, looking up at the slowly darkening sky, tracing out words in the air.

15 or so minutes passed, and I finished the painting.

"I'm done now, Tae~" I notified him. He hurriedly sat up, and scurried over to sit by my side.

I held up the painting for him to look, and watches as his eyes widened with amazement.

"W-wow..." he managed to say.

Two bears, winter scenery, and "Winter Bear" in big letters painted on the what used to be blank canvas.

Taehyung's fingers drifted across every detail on the canvas, tracing the words lightly and delicately.

"It's beautiful, y/n. Wow, you're great with painting!" He complimented, making a light shade of pink dust over my cheeks.

"Thanks! I-I was planning on giving this to you. Consider it a gift for all the ones you've given me," I told him, handing over the painting.

He took the painting from my hands, holding in close to chest, smiling.

Oh how lovely his smile is.

"Do you like it?" I questioned, resting my head on his shoulder.

He scratched my head a bit, answering, "I love it. I'm gonna hang it up on my bedroom wall once I get home. And every time I miss you, I can always look at it and think about you."

I laughed at his response, lightly hitting his chest, causing him to chuckle and tug at my hair a bit.

We stayed in this position for a while bit, admiring the now dark, star sprinkled sky, and comfortable quietness that surrounded us. The music had stopped, and soon, the two of us drifted off into sleep on the grassy hill.
