Sara sat over on the roof of a tall apartment building. The sky had long since darkened, but the light from houses and billboards and street lights made it so that there was still plenty of light to see by.

Sara had snuck out after dark. Something that she had been doing more and more often. Her parents were under the impression that she had a big project due the next morning that she had left to the last minute.

She told Gwen that she was gong explore the city. Patrol a bit. But she knew the real reason why she was out wandering.

It had been a week since she had met Thunderbird, and had pretty much gotten her asses kicked by a guy who didn't even have any powers.

She had told herself to forget about him. It was exciting to meet another hero, powers or not. But he wasn't going to help her. It was possible he just crazy. Maybe he regularly made a habit of attacking random passerby and just got lucky that they pretty much all turned out to be wanted criminals.

It was possible she had found a future enemy rather than a future ally.

Either way, he was someone she should probably keep an eye on.

This was easier said than done.

Sara could hop across rooftops as much as she wanted and she often did use the vantage point to scan the surrounding city and peer down sketchy alleyways, but it was a big city. Running into someone you knew was rare. Running into a specific someone who didn't really want to be found and was really really good at staying hidden was pretty much impossible.

He best bet was probably right where she was, in one of the rougher areas of the city. But she had been parked here for over two hours with no signs of pretty much anything happening at all.

Sara sighed. He legs dangling over the edge of the building. She was just about to give up and go home when something across the street caught her eye.

A young woman was walking down the sidewalk. Her skin was a light brown and her hair was long and dark, braided down her back. She was wearing and an oversized sweater and clutching her purse close to her side, glancing behind her every so often.

As Sara watched she noticed a man following the woman, a yard or two back. His hood was up obscuring his face. Something by his side glittered in the dark, long and metallic.

"Oh boy, " Sara breathed to herself and left off the roof's edge.
