He was asleep in his bed as the sun rose up he began to put on his vest and hat then there was a knock on the door
"come in!" mr conductor said as a worker stepped into his house
"mr conductor may i speak to you?" he asked
"why sure" he said making tea for the both of them after they finished their tea the worker got back to business
"mr conductor the industry has send me here to inform you of something" he said
"what is it then?" mr conductor asked taking one last sip of his tea
"they are giving you a day off from work since you have been working very hard this week especially that trip you took to the pliocene era 2 days ago" he explained
"yeah that was one heck of an encounter now isn't it?" he said
"you might be the only one in the industry to actually get a good look on those two alpha predators you must feel very lucky huh?" he said
"well i have always have thought of myself as lucky but who will run the train while i'm gone?" he asked cautiously
"oh no need to worry the boss has assigned your nephew to do the work" he said
"you mean gilbert? wow this might actually be a good decision for the company" he said
"he has passed the academy hasn't he?" the worker asked
"yeah just graduated last month and trust me i think he's ready to take care of the old train for me" mr conductor said
"we also assigned a few other conductors to either guide him through or when he's not around" he said
"wow my friend buddy was right they did think of everything" mr conductor thought
"oh and gilbert is waiting at the station i think he'll be excited to see his uncle again after years of work at the academy" he said
"lets hope so" mr conductor said as he got up and went to the station where gilbert was sitting on the bench with a blue jacket with sleeves and the reason why his jacket is blue and mr conductor's vest is red is because its to simbolize he's still a rookie
"hey kid how's it going" mr conductor said
"uncle! Its so nice to see you!" gilbert said as he hugged his uncle
"dont worry i know you'll do great just remember what i and the academy thaught ya ok" he said
"thanks uncle!" he said as the train whistle was heard from behind
"well guess i'll be going then" gilbert said
"yeah oh and another thing" mr conductor said
"what is it?" he asked
"say hello to your friends if you happen to pass by them they have missed you" he said
"sure i'll keep it in mind" gilbert said as the train left
MEANWHILE
The kids were getting ready to spend time at the big pond today buddy brought his chewing stick tiny brought her tiny doll shiny wore a bracelet made of shells and don had a necklace with buddy's tooth on it while keanan and valerie packed their food
"so you guys ready?" buddy asked
"oh yeah!" don said but before they left mr pteranodon wanted to tell them something
"guys come over here i need to tell you something" he said
"what is it dad?" buddy asked
"mr conductor is on a break today but there are 3 new conductors that are taking his place while he's gone" he explained
