The whole night I was tossing and turning, but, soon enough, my alarm went off. I sat up and turned it off. I quickly got dressed in a red and black plaid dress with black leggings and combat boots. Pretty much everything I own is plaid, so it's not that hard of a choice. I decided to curl my long red hair since it was a "big day" and threw on a little bit of makeup. I walked downstairs to Mom cooking eggs and bacon for breakfast.
"Wow! Look at you all dolled up!" Mom exclaimed.
"Stop it, Mom! It's nothing special. I just wanted to look nice," I rolled my eyes.
          "Mhm, sure," Mom laughed.
"Now give me some breakfast, I'm starving!" I said. Mom handed me some breakfast, and I ate it like there was no tomorrow. All of this thinking and trying to figure out who this mystery interviewer is made me hungry! I kissed Mom on the cheek and thanked her for the food. I grabbed my purse and keys and rushed out the door and drove to school.
I parked in the lot and was met by Abby.
"Hey Ains! Well, damn who you dressed up for?" Abby said.
"Nothing! I just wanted to look decent today!" I retorted.
"Listen, I'm a female. Either you're trying to look good for someone or you have major plans. We rarely get dressed for no reason." Abby smirked.
"Okay, fine! My mom said she has some interview with a big person and I apparently really like this person, but my mom won't tell me who it is. I just figured I'd actually look like a girl instead of some hobo," I cracked.
"Oh my god, that's awesome! Girl, you better keep me in the loop in who this person is! Remember your best friend over here!" Abby replied.
"Don't worry, Abs I won't forget about you," I laughed, "Now let's get into homeroom before we're late. We made our way into school and went through the day.
The day drug on very slowly, but finally it was the end of the day. Abby and I walked to my car.
"Looks like it's time for this big interview!" Abby exclaimed excitedly.
"Geez, I think you're more excited about this than I am," I said as we got to my car.
"You CANNOT tell me you're not excited about this mystery person!" Abby replied. She wasn't wrong, but I was also extremely nervous. This person could literally be ANYONE!
"I'm excited, but this is, like, a big thing. What if I'm awkward? What if I basically scare this person away?"
"Ains, you will be fine, trust me! Just be yourself. This person may be famous, but they're still a human being. They're not much different than us. They just have money and millions of people practically in love with them!" Abby laughed. I take a deep breath.
"You're right, Abs. Alright... Here I go! Wish me luck!" I hugged her and got into my car.
"Remember, keep me updated!" Abby yelled into my window.
"I will, I promise, sheesh!" I laughed. Abby walked to her car and went home. I sat there for a few more minutes to gather my thoughts. Suddenly, my phone vibrated and it was Mom.
"Mom: Hey honey! Are you almost home? The interviewer is waiting!"
"Me: Yes, Mom. I'm coming now. I'll be there in 5."
I started the car and drove home. 5 minutes later, I was home. I parked and walked in, where I was greeted by my overly excited mother.
"Are you ready? I can't wait for you to meet this person!" Mom shrieked.
"MOM! Relax! Geez, what are you and Abby on today? It's JUST a person!" I said.
"I'm sorry! I just know you really like this person and I want you to be happy," Mom said, looking down.
"I know, Mom. Are you ready to go? C'mon I'll drive," I hugged her and we both got into the car. She gave me the directions to the person's house. Only 20 minutes away.
The drive was pretty quiet. Mom sat there applying and reapplying her makeup. She wanted everything to be perfect. I could tell she was nervous.
Finally, we pulled into the person's driveway. We got out of the car and went up to the door. Mom took a deep breath.
"You ready, honey?" Mom asked, smiling from ear to ear.
"As I'll ever be," I replied. My heart was pounding so hard. Mom hit the buzzer and we waited to be buzzed in. Suddenly, someone spoke on the intercom.
          "Who are you?"
"Hello, this is Madelynn Mae Richards and my daughter, Ainsley. I have an interview today," Mom said. The door buzzed and we walked in. It really looked like a normal apartment with a few expensive looking things. Then I heard voices in the living room. They sounded so familiar.
"Hello everybody! My name is Marki--"
Then it hit me...
