Sooo questions about an actual fic aside (the Apples rewrite, now known as its working title Cicada, to be specific) I'd just like to clarify some things about this fic first!

1. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A THREAD I POSTED ON TWITTER. So if it seems broken up into, strangely enough, paragraphs of 240 characters or less, well, it's because it was originally written that way. I did some freestyle writing at 1am and challenged myself to do so in a format that when I started, I wouldn't stop. Hence, the thread format. I drafted tweets til the thread count was full, posted, then continued to finish it. I also had no plan, just totally made shit up as I went along. However, this is a lightly edited and modified version, but it's like 97% the same as what you would've read in the twitter thread. 2. It's a one-shot. Chances are I'll write some like this in the future, but it will be separate from any other existing fics.

3. Yes, it's technically x reader, but none of that Tumblr self-insert bullshit. No hair colour, no eye colour, no name, whatever. I ought to be notorious for hating x reader. I'd like to think I do x reader with a little more class. This focuses more on the seductive evil that is the Joker.

4. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** for ABUSE both mental and physical, vaguely sexual/suggestive content, general creepiness and, well, the Joker. It's been years since I posted writing I do of him online (which I do every day) and the way I write him has changed so much. He's not perfect, but he's MILES more in character than I've ever publicly written him to be. I like him real, real nasty. Fans of AoS, I'm sorry, but he'll never say he loves you. But yeah, this is... abuse. It is from the pov of a lovesick and manipulated reader however, so while it might seem like romanticising abuse, I DO NOT ROMANTICISE NOR CONDONE ABUSE OR ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIPS. Having gone through one myself, plus a hilariously unhealthy relationship with my dad, it's the last thing I'd wish for anyone to go through. However, I am not easily triggered, I find it easy to talk about, and in fact find it cathartic and better to work through when I actively write about it. I find it fascinating and terrifying to explore all the dynamics that my abuser had considered when we dated. And what more horrible a person to be my guinea pig than our favourite piece of shit clown?

5. And finally, this is kinda abstract! It's all in lowercase and the grammar and punctuation is weird but I like it that way! Kinda gives it sorta juvenile, train of thought kinda vibe. Perfect for dealing with the chaos that is the Joker!

Okay, the elephant in the room. The Apples rewrite. Working title: Cicada. I know I'm the asshole author who says a million times "I'm working on it" but you gotta understand, this beast of a book I'm dealing with is a far, far fucking cry than what the original draft I posted was. You have to know, this isn't just June and Joker and whatever horny bullshit they wanna get into, this is some like. Serious, I'm touching on way too many themes and putting in as much effort as it would take to dissect James Joyce because I CARE. SO MUCH. ABOUT. THESE CHARACTERS. I have fallen in love with June and I'm giving her the world. I'm practically writing a story again from the ground up. I'm sorry it's taking so much time. So much time even I don't know when it'll be posted. But in the meantime, I'll try to post more one-shots like this or better stuff, and just know that I haven't abandoned Wattpad or given up writing or forgot about the Joker. I've been fuckin deep up his ass for seven years and that isn't gonna change just because I don't publicly post what I write about him. In fact a year ago I got a tattoo in dedication of him and TDK, which you can also check out on Twitter (totally not self promo).
