Tonight is the mafia ball. I've always wanted to go to one. Only technically I have to be someone's date, because even though Annika and Sabrina will also be at the ball they have to come as someone's plus one...because they aren't technically a high ranking member. Annika will be Dimitri's date, and
Sabrina is going with Ezra.

I don't have a date and that's the problem.

Dimitri and Andrei seem to think along with Ezra that I should wait until Cristian gets here and then say I'm his date. Which I think is a stupid and embarrassing idea.

"That would never work." I tell them

"Never say never." Ezra says

"And what if he shows up with a date?"
I ask trying to prove a point

"He'll drop her for you." Dimitri says

"No he wouldn't." I reply and look at Andrei
for help but he just shrugs

"He would." Andrei says

"For what propose? Why would he bring a date, and then suddenly drop her just because I'm here?" I ask them

"She doesn't see it.." Dimitri says to Andrei and Ezra

"Why would she, she hasn't really been around him to see it.." Andrei says to Dimitri

"She won't see it or believe it unless he proves it to her..." Ezra adds in

"What is it that I'm I suppose to be seeing?" I ask

"That you are important to him regardless of what you may think. You are still as important to him as you were when we were younger, if not more so now than before." Dimitri answers

"If I was then he would've came back before my twenty first birthday, for my grandfather Val's funeral, or literally anytime before now..." I reply

"She doesn't know.." Andrei says

"Just tell me...I'm tired of the secrets."
I tell them

"Cristian took over for Stefan around that time but he also had to be there for his mother and Annika. Stefan had an affair with one of the maids. Not to mention he was trying to find who killed your grandfather while trying to solve issues in Russia." Dimitri says

"He wanted to be there but there wasn't a way unless he gave the responsibilities back to his father which wasn't an option to Cristian." Andrei says

"I understand that. Of course I do. However from my point of view I don't have a reason to believe that I still hold any importance to him.. I know he's searching for me but to be fair that could Annika or my father pressuring him." I explain my thoughts

The three of them just let it go for now.
