{ Reia's POV }

After I ate — I've just been up in my room watching Gossip Girl waiting for midnight.

Now I'm sneaking downstairs in my light gray jogging pants, and white v-neck t-shirt.

I see Annika already waiting for me by my mothers study. I type in the code which she let me change so now it's "roséflower" because it's the only alcohol I drink, and my grandfather Val use to tell me I was the mafias flower. It's kind of silly but it's personal, and something no one would guess. Including my father.

"I want the story behind that code."
Annika says

"You are the only one outside of my mother and dead grandfather who knows it." I say

"In that case I feel honored." Annika says

"It's my mother's office that my father built for her, but it's also the way to my safe room, and the key to my sanity so please keep it a secret." I say as I shut the office door behind us.

The office door locks automatically and I hit the hidden button that slides the bookshelf away. Annika gasps but I don't comment on it.
I just lead us to a hallway full of colorful lights.

"This is super cool but also really weird."
Annika says

"My mother and grandfather secretly did this for me ; they knew I needed a place to myself where I could just breathe, and just be completely myself. As far as the code goes my mother let me change it—— rosé is the only alcohol I drink, and flower is because my grandfather Val always said I was the mafias flower." I explain

Annika nods in understanding.

"Why is the hallway lit up like we are in a secret rainbow entrance to a club?" Annika asks

I lightly laugh but answer anyway.

"I've never been to a club, but my mother and grandfather Val designed it. My mother said she knew that I loved color, and that I desperately needed more of it so they personally designed it to fit me." I answer

"You've never been to a club?"
She asks as if she can't believe it

"No." I simply reply

Once we get to the room Annika's jaw drops and she says "At least I know your mother, and grandfather really loved you to do all of this for you."

"I've questioned a lot of things, but I've never questioned that." I say honestly

We sit on the couch and I open the cabinet which has a mini fridge in it. I get out two cold canned Dr. Peppers, and a bag of mini Hershey chocolate bars.

"I don't get much girl time so this is my moment, don't ruin it." I tell Annika jokingly

She smiles and says "I wouldn't dream of it."

As we dig into the chocolate Annika brings up her question from the kitchen and that's when I know I need to just get it all off my chest for once. I trust Annika we grew up together, and we've kept in touch over the years. We just haven't gotten into deep conversations like this.
