Moana? Moana who?
I stared up at the girl, trying to remember who the heck Moana was, and where the heck I was. For some reason I couldn't place it.
"Are you....are you a Disney character?" I choked out, still feeling a little lightheaded.
She nodded. "Yes I am. But enough about me, we should get you and your friend to my father."
"Your father?"
She nodded as she helped me to sit up. I groaned as I slowly got off the sand and sat up straight, my head still spinning.
"My father was the original chief of this island, before I became chief. You're lucky you washed up here. We've only came back here to round up supplies temporarily until our next voyage.
I couldn't process what this girl was saying. It was all so bizarre, how I couldn't remember any of this. I hadn't the slightest clue what this girl was talking about.
"Who are YOU?" Moana asked me, as she helped me to stand up.
"My name is Jamie." I responded. "I came here with my dad to...wait, where's my dad?" I started frantically turning in all directions until I noticed a lone body about 20 feet away from us, still unconscious, waves lapping over his feet.
"Your dad?" she questioned.
I ignored her and ran over to him. He was lying face up, but there was no question about it. It was Jim Hawkins. 17 year-old space explorer. My father.
He was knocked out, but still breathing. But his breathing was shallow and ragged, almost as if he had something lodged in his throat. He was also extremely pale.
"Dad?" I asked. "Dad, wake up." I patted his cheek, nudged him a bit.
I turned to Moana, who was still probably questioning the fact that this teenager looked way too young to be the father of another teenager.
"Can you get me some water?"
"Salt water?"
"Any water."
She went over to the waves, lapped some water in her hands, and came back.
I indicated that she should throw it on his face. She did.
Immediately he started heavily choking, almost as if he were coughing up a lung. He then slightly turned to the side and upchucked what must have been his midnight snack back on Earth.
"Dad, you alright?" I asked, ignoring the vomit on the other side of him.
He fluttered open his eyes, now lying face up again, and stared at me. "Ugh...yeah, I think so. I feel like my head's going to split open though."
I smirked. "Yeah well, I guess traveling from Earth to the World of Disney is usually pretty rough."
Moana came up to us. "Wait...did you say Earth?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm from Earth. My father is Jim Hawkins. Dad, this is-"
"Moana..." my dad finished.
I guess I wasn't too shocked that my dad already knew her. "Uh, yeah."
But as I stared at my dad, he looked even paler than before. He looked almost frightened, staring up at the island chief. I looked back at Moana, and she had nearly the same expression, staring back at him.
"Uh, guys? What's wrong?"
"I'm not supposed to be here." my dad whispered.
"What are you talking about? This is where we wanted to go."
