Chapter 8

The alarm clock rang and Hop slowly got up. He went to the bathroom and took a shower. He then got changed and went off to work.

Timeskip...

Hop took the elevator into the battle tower as he always new where Gloria waited for him every morning.

The elevator doors opened and as usual, Gloria was there on her phone, waiting for him.

Gloria noticed that Hop was already there, so she put her phone away and and stood up to walk towards him.

"Good morning, Hop!" Gloria greeted cheerfully.

"Mornin' Champ!" Hop greeted back.

"Let's grab breakfast, shall we?" said Gloria.

The two took a flying taxi and grabbed breakfast together.

As they both ate, they talked about some stuff. But Hop though that he should asked the question.

"So, the news about you and Bede. Is it true mate?" Hop asked, trying to hide his nervousness.

"H-huh?!" Gloria said surprisingly "N-no! And if it w-was true, you know you w-would have b-been the f-first one to know b-because... You're my best friend." Gloria nervously explained.

Hop mentally sighed and chuckled at her baffled best friend. Even though they started with just a small chuckle from Hop, it then turned into a laughing fit from the two.

The two finished breakfast and went to head back to Postwick since Gloria really did not have anything to do that day and she kinda missed it there.

As Hop and Gloria both walked towards their hometown, Hop's phone suddenly rang. He pulled out his phone to check what it was - turns out, it was an incoming call from Nessa.

Hop excused himself and answered the call.

"Heeeyyyy!" Nessa said through the phone.

"Ugh... Hey???" Hop answered, confused

"So, I heard you were coming over with Gloria, sooooo..."

"Wait, how'd you know I was coming over with her?" Hop asked.

"I had Marnie spy on you two. I'm paying her." Nessa casually said like it was nothing.

Hop looked around the are nervously after hearing what Nessa just said.

Suddenly, the person he was talking too switched from Nessa, to suddenly Raihan talking to him over the phone.

"Anyway, we promise we won't blow this for ya. Good luck, trooper."
